It’s day 5 of the 12 Days of CHRIS-elle and today, I’m teaming up with Parisian luxury house, Christofle to share the Ultimate Guide to a throwing a glam holiday party this year! Make sure you leave a comment on each blog post for a chance to win my favorite picks from each brand! One winner will be chosen at random after the 12 Days of CHRIS-elle are over!
Achieving a glam holiday party is a lot easier than it sounds. With a few simple steps, some statement pieces, and a little creativity, you can create a gorgeous and very glam tablescape!
[parallax]
[/parallax]1. Swap the Botanicals
The usual holiday flower is traditionally the poinsettia, which is gorgeous, but for my tablescape, I wanted to change it up and be a little unconventional but still classic. For my table florals, I decided to use eucalyptus and succulents for a fresh and natural look and feel.
2. Reuse Old Candles
Candles are a must for any tablescape. They add a gorgeous ambiance and warmth to any party while adding holiday aroma in the air. And if you’ve got older candles, try re-purposing the vessel and adding some sweat treats!
3. Get Creative
An unconventional Christmas tree like the one above I created add some holiday flare while still looking really modern! I used a coat rack and some fun ornaments to jazz up the room without making it feel overwhelming. It’s a great (and simple) way to bring a festive touch to every room in your house!
4. Add Sparkle
You can never have enough sparkle! So for my glam tablescape, I added some costume jewelry! The shine looks gorgeous in the candlelight, and the juxtaposition of the jewels and greenery look super cool. Another cool tip is to use a bangle as a napkin holder! It gives that extra touch of glam using something already in your closet!
[parallax] [/parallax]
5. Have a Statement Piece
The Mood by Christofle is the perfect standout statement piece for your glam holiday party, and every other party you host! What I love about this particular piece is that it’s glam enough for your chicest holiday party and warm enough for a casual dinner with some friends. Christofle is the authority when it comes to amazing silver and has been around since the 1830’s! They believe in heritage and modernity and are all about enhancing the every day and I love that something so simple and sleek in design can make such a statement. Mood by Christofle has 24 flatware pieces which is the perfect set up for up to 6 guests. Not only is it perfect for holiday or housewarming, but it’s truly the gift that keeps on giving! Just having it in my dining area really brightens up the room and I’m not even going to tell you how many of my girlfriends have texted me that they want to steal this piece from me!
Thanks to our partnership with Christofle, we were able to make a generous donation to Baby2Baby just in time for the holidays!
Day 1 | Day 2| Day 3 | Day 4 | Day 6 | Day 7 | Day 8 | Day 9
Remember, to enter the 12 Days of CHRIS-elle all you have to do is:
1. Leave a comment down below on this post telling us what your favorite holiday food is.
2. Come back to the blog every day through December 12th and leave a comment on every post!
3. We will be randomly choosing a winner at the end of the 12 days to be announced no later than one business week after. So remember to comment as much as you want!
Good luck everyone and see you tomorrow!

My favourite holiday food would be first of all: Peppermint Hot Chocolate. Yes, I know, this is not really food yet it's something I am looking forward to in the festive season. (Real) food wise is difficult because there are just so many wonderful things, putting me into a literal food coma every year again. haha.

The best holiday food for me is dolma that my grandmother makes every year for Christmas. It’s from Armenian cuisine and is very delicious when pouring some yoghurt on it.
Your dress is so gorgeous, the shape and colour matches really well with you. But my favourite has to be the eucalyptus plants that you used. The colour is subtle but blends so well with your cute costume jewellery and is something that I can try when I help my grandmother decorate for Christmas too! Seems like a nice change from typical blooms that we often buy for my gran. I too will try to use costume jewellery to brighten up the decor this year 🙂
My favorite holiday food are buñuelos and Matilda (native from Colombia). I eat them all December.
No one in my family is a great chef, although we all love to eat! Your last post for 12 days of Chriselle really struck a chord with me. I’ve always been the type of person to have dreams as big as my mind could fathom yet these last few years I’ve felt so defeated and those dreams of mine somehow became just that… Dreams. I know it may seem silly but I feel like winning this computer would be the jumpstart I need to believe in myself again and know that anything I set my mind to is attainable, not just some wish. So I can get this show on the road as they say.
Swedish cinammon rolled pastry is my yum yum discovery
Every year on christmas day, my grandmother makes a roast (Sauerbraten) and it is the most delicious thing you can have. Everything is homemade including the spätzle. Besides the roast being delicious, I love the smell that lingers in the house while she is cooking. It makes it feel extremely cosy and homey.

Here in Nigeria we don’t have holiday food but rice is the main meal for celebrations so I’ll go with Rice & Stew which is my favourite.
This is a very non-traditional “holiday” food, but my favorite thing to eat around this time is rice and kimchi. I am a college student who does not have the luxury of eating the food I was raised with while at school, and so going back home for the holiday means that I am able to enjoy more of my mom’s food. And for me, though we have the traditional meal of ham/mashed potatoes/ green beans/ etc, my favorite and most anticipated meal is a warm bowl of rice and homemade kimchi.

Hi from Italy Chriselle!! my favorite holiday food is PANDORO, a typical Italian Christmas food. is so so so so so good!!!

My favourite holiday food has to be celery puree ( with the turkey ) because it’s a dish that i typically associate with this time of the year.
Simple, the way Christmas should be— green bean casserole.
My favorite holiday food is TURKEY!!
Is it even possible to choose a single favorite holiday dish? I have a nostalgic attachment to kolachkes, as that’s what my ohma used to keep in the kitchen before her giant (extended) family Christmas Eve dinner. My sisters and I would always sneak as many as we could while we were waiting for all the tables to be set and our aunts and uncles and cousins to arrive. When she died a few years ago, my opa made a point of giving my dad her recipe, so we’ve made a few batches every year since. There’s also my grandma’s family famous pot roast, which is hands down the homiest, most welcoming holiday dish in existence. New Years always calls for pork and sauerkraut and wursts and potato, and it’s a lazy comfort meal I’ve always enjoyed. I’ve also grown even more attached to butter cookies, now that my nieces are old enough to join in as we decorate them, and I get to share in their joy and delight.
Hands down the holiday candy cane icecream! I could eat it by the tub!
My favorite holiday food definitely has to be peppermint bark! I’m more of a savory-loving person but the combination of candy canes and chocolate always gets me!

My favorite holiday food is just a traditional Korean dinner mixed with an Americanized dinner as my family usually has both for the holidays! The older adults usually stick with the Korean items and the kids indulge in the Americanized dishes.
Favorite food?! Now we are talking. Honestly though, I think I could beat Aimee Song at an eating contest that’s how much I eat. For me my favorite holiday food is hands down flan or cheesecake. If I really have to pick I’ll say flan because it is more of a holiday dessert for me than a year-round one, but both (handmade) are sooooo good.

Hey Chriselle, your blog is always amazing! Thank you!
My holiday favorite food is Pandoro, is a Christmas dessert that we eat in Italy and is delicious!
My favorite food is my mom’s potato latkes of course. Her latke is the prototype, the latke I measure all latkes to. She mastered the perfect crisp. I’ve helped her make them numerous times, but when I attempt them on my own they just don’t turn out quite right. Now everytime I’m at a restaurant and I see potato pancakes on the menu, I end up ordering them, hoping they make the cut. They usually never do. The closest I’ve come are the ones from Walker Brothers. I will continue my search. How I’d love to sit down with my mom again and share a plate of potato latkes with her.

We still get together for stir Sunday to make it! It’s tradition to make your Christmas pudding on the last Sunday before Advent Sunday. Everyone gets a turn to stir and make a wish and then you add a little silver trinket to the mix(even more traditionally is a sixpence). When it is served, whoever finds it is supposed to have good fortune the following year. 😋
Love how artful this article is. And that Christofle piece is definitely a statement piece! It would make eating my favourite Pavlova 🍰 (egg white cake, basically like a giant meringue covered in fresh cream and summer fruits) a little classier. Fav holiday food will be steamboat! Typical asian.
Hi Chriselle, ^-^
Before I say anything, let me gush about how absolutely gorgeous the table is. It looks so traditional yet not at the same time. The contrast the wonderful.
The velvet wrap dress you’re wearing is so beautiful. It flatters you perfectly.
Maybe its weird of me to say this, but I feel like the items that always give that extra touch to the table are always cutlery. Nice, simple and elegant ones that seem to have a weight to them. A hit heavy on the hand to get a good grip.
It adds a bit of, what should I say, class(??) To the table, making it look all the more put together and maybe a little expensive?
The table is always the center piece, it just has to look good. But in the end, I mean if there’s good food dn the table and lived ones to share it with, then do decorations really count. =)
Love,
Kannagi

Holiday food has a separate compartment when it comes to food. When you say “Holiday Food” it has a very different aspect from what we eat on a daily basis.
The Holiday Food in general is made of ingredients like love and compassion. So wherever you go, you will find that the food is enriched with those precious ingredients.
But if I had to pick one my Favorite Holiday Food would be the desert served at the very end of every dinner party. Because it leads to the endless talks and jokes, as I mentioned in my comment of the first day of 12 Days of Chriselle. Being with the family, in a room, talking, cracking jokes, etc etc etc are my most favorite things to do!!
Sorry to make this comment long! 😀

Hi Chriselle,
Being the Korean I am, my favorite holiday food is kalbi! K-BBQ will always be a staple during the holidays.
Coming from an Asian family we never really did the holidays as the conventional classic way it’s done here in the west, we always had our own cuisine on the table. But every year there’s always peppermint hot cocoa in the evenings, and that’s probably my favorite ‘festive and holiday’ food/beverage.
Love the idea of succulents!
xx
Love reading your posts each day. This one was full of the unexpected. Such a treat. My favorite holiday food would have to be a decadent stuffing which I bake in a separate roasting pan for extra crispness.
My favorite holiday food is this special chicken that my cousin’s wife makes only during the holiday season — it’s a roast chicken stuffed with lots of glass noodles and also mushrooms, and I don’t how she does it but it’s flavored with butter and oyster sauce (and other ingredients I don’t know)
IT’S AMAZING. Tastes even better as leftovers stuffed into a croissant or baguette. yummmmmmm

My favorite Christmas foods are handmade tamales and for dessert my mom’s spice cookies. I love how strong the memories of food can be and how many traditions can revolve around a specific food

Bangles as napkin holders – why have I never thought of that!
I always look forward to our traditional Christmas dinner, particularly the stuffing (duh, so gooood). I’m also a huge dark chocolate fiend, so if you pass the box my way…it might not come back! 🙊 But I think my favourite meal in the holiday season is in the buildup to Christmas, when we’re all finally back at my parent’s house, we celebrate Festivus (yes, like Seinfeld), which usually falls on the Solstice (my boyfriend comes from a religious family and thinks this sounds so pagan 😅 Hahaha) where we usually do a fondue dinner (in oil or broth). This is such a nice way to catch up with my family because it’s a meal that forces you to slow down, enjoy each other’s company (and some wine) and be in the moment. That’s my favourite meal of the holidays.
Peppermint Mocha is my favorite holiday drink 🙂

Anyway, since I do a lot of cooking over the holidays for my husband and I and for my blog, one of my favorite things to make is Cornish game hen stuffed with goat cheese, chives and pears.
