Happy Day 10 of the 12 Days of CHRISelle!
During the first trimester of my pregnancy with Colette, I had terrible hormonal acne. It went away during the second trimester, but after I gave birth, my skin went crazy again! With all of the hormonal changes my body is going through with breastfeeding, I had more breakouts plus a lot of dryness on my skin. I’d also have random oily patches where pimples would pop up here and there and even got “chestne” aka acne on my chest!
So naturally, I was beyond excited to team up with COSRX this year! I discovered this Korean beauty brand a while ago because they’re huge in Asia, but it wasn’t until recently that I started to reach for their products again.
Since my skin has been acting up so much lately, the Acne Pimple Master Patch has been heaven sent. One hour, I think I look okay and then in another hour, I can have a new zit pop up out of nowhere! All which does not make me a). feel cute or b). feel my best. What I love about these acne pimple master patches are that you can put them on a pimple overnight, or put them on an area you feel one surfacing, and leave it on while you sleep! It sucks all of the grossness out and you can actually SEE it when you take the sticker off the next morning. It’s actually so satisfying to see!
The patches are basically a hydrocolloid bandage that helps speed up the healing process and protects your blemishes from bacteria. The patches work by extracting the pore from impurities and are totally secret weapon whenever I see a pimple. It’s one of those things that are inexpensive and can easily slip into an overnight bag to use in case of an emergency. They’re super effective and honestly so easy to use! They were even the 2017 Teen Vogue Acne award-winning product plus a top-selling product on Amazon in the beauty category! So you KNOW they’re good.
To do my best to prevent myself from getting any future breakouts, I make sure to use these One Step Original Clear Pads! They’re kind of the same idea as the DIY pads my mom makes me and these internationally award-winning pads are great for combo skin (my skin type), and they control the sebum production to help prevent any future breakouts without irritating your skin. A total must-have if you’ve been breaking out recently, especially with all of that pre-holiday stress!

Why You Should Care About Clean Beauty

My skin had been really clear up until two weeks ago, when I started finals in college… now I have to deal with the breakouts that came with the stress. Along with my skin care, I like to use watered down apple-cider-vinegar toner and it works like a charm!!! Also I use la roche-posay acne spot cream for those nasty ones!
And this year I’ve been naughty when it comes to taking care of my skin 😥 I’ve been lately neglecting my skin because of my busy schedule. However Chrisille’s ig stories and posts always inspire me to keep going!

I don’t think that I was the nicest girl this year. I could have done better – my skin tells me that too. This sensitive mixed skin drives me crazy! I have acne since six years and it’s so annoying! Maybe I should take the advice from my skin and be the nicest girl around next year!

Naughty and nice 😉 I have been nice because I have slowly achieved my goals that I set out for 2018 (fitness, mindfulness, self love). But I’ve been naughty this past month because I’ve been terrible at taking care of my skin like I used to! These winter months are brutal for my skin so I’m trying to get my skin back to track! I’ve been nice this year! I worked hard to graduate from college, got myself a job, did work that I enjoy, worked towards a bigger goal which is to become a licensed professional, and most importantly, got to spend more quality time with my family and took care of my health by eating right, exercising, and clearing my skin little by little!
