Cozy Bed 101

It’s day 2 of the 12 Days of CHRISelle (if you missed it, check out Day 1 here!) and I teamed up with the amazing Parachute to teach you guys all about how to make the perfect cozy bed. I dont know about you, but the one thing that would always drive me crazy was seeing all of those perfectly chic beds on Pinterest. You know which ones I’m talking about, right? The totally lived-in-but-totally-put-together beds. If you asked me what I would need to attain that vibe, I was completely clueless (anyone feel me on this?) so I did some research! So pull up a seat and grab your notes. Heres how to break it down to achieve a perfectly disheveled bed this season aka Cozy Bed 101:

1. Pick the Colors.

Stick with a color scheme! I love a good all-white Percale look, but sometimes white can look too sterile if it’s all by itself. So I would suggest adding one other color with a Quilt (like Parachute’s Essential Quilt) or a decorative throw to expand the color palette and add visual interest. Neutrals are always a safe bet, and shades of white and grey look airy and chic!

2. Pillows.

How many is ok? How few is ok? I have a queen sized bed for my guest room and I think 4 is the perfect number. If you want your bed to be super luxe and fluffy with queen bed, you can still get king-sized pillows! For those of you that don’t have a bedframe, a trick I like is to use euro pillows (basically large square pillows) with euro shams to add some visual structure to your bed and give you more of a headboard!

3. Sheets.

Quality sheets make all the difference and I didn’t fully realize that until I started using Parachute! Obviously, it’s a luxury to have high quality, ethically made sheets but in my opinion, it’s totally worth it. Parachute has a way of making their sheets feel natural, light and airy. I like to match my duvet cover with my sheets to give the bedroom a cohesive feel.

4. Textures.

Ever wonder how to get that perfect Pinterest worthy bed? It has all to do with texture. Of course, sheets are important for comfort but as far as aesthetic, you always want to add a second layer! This quilt (check it out here) and this cashmere blanket add new textures and layers while making the bed look and feel extra cozy.

I try to do my best to make my bed and guest room as cozy as possible, so a huge shout out to Parachute for helping me do just that!
