7 Beauty Products for Hot Weather

The best thing about LA is the year round “summer” weather.. but the the worst thing about hot weather is melting makeup. I mean, what’s less chic than sweating your face off? After years of trial and error, I now have an arsenal of makeup products that I use during hot weather to ensure that my makeup stays on even in 100 degree weather. Today I’ll be sharing with you guys my picks for products to help your face look fresh and done for the summertime!

1. Bare Mineral Complexion Rescue

Unless I’m shooting videos for my youtube channel, I usually would opt for a light coverage like this Bare Mineral Cream vs a heavier foundation. I like this for hotter temperatures because it has a SPF 30 and it’s tinted. For the summer I usually prefer to wear tinted moisturizers to give my face a bit more color because it’s basically impossible for me to tan! This product by Bare Minerals is a good “in between” product because it’s just light enough for my skin but has both sun protection and color.

2. Michael Kors Hydrating Bronze Gel Creme

I’ve been absolutely obsessed with this product as it smells absolutely amazing and it’s a gel bronzer so it’s super easy to blend with my foundation. Another reason that I love this product is that it has a bit of shimmer so it just gives my face that perfect summer glow!

3. Tarte Palette & Glow 

These two Tarte products are so great for hot weather! Aside from the fact that the Tarte eye and cheek palette has a designated “summer breeze” color (cream shadow), I love it because it’s extremely versatile. This palette can be used day to night, and it’s extremely long lasting. For a summery and shimmer look, I definitely recommend this Tarte palette! Yet another bronzer, I know. But this bronzer is a brightening luminizer as well as a bronzer! Since it has Maracuja oil in it, it is a “runny” product, but I like adding a few drops on this on my cheeks or wherever else I need brightening. A little goes a long way for this product and for the summer, I really rely using this on my cheekbones for that extra glow!

4. Too Faced Endless Summer 16 hour Bronzer

16 hour bronzer? Need I say more? Bronzer is one of those products that doesn’t get as much love as, say for example, eyeliners, but it’s definitely a must have for the summer. Bronzers can give your face a definition and healthy toned glow. And especially for hot weather, this 16 hour Bronzer is definitely long lasting!

5. Perfecting Gloss

I love this HydroPeptide Gloss because it not only adds shine to your lips, but it is also good for your lips as you wear it. It’s supposed to add fullness, firmness and hydration! I’ve only just started wearing it for photo shoots and video shoots, but I’m excited to see the results. In times of hot weather, my lips tends to get dry .. so I’m excited that this product has a dual function in addition to adding color! (And you guys know I’m all about that double duty makeup ..)

6. Stila Aqua Glow Perfecting Primer

Having a solid face against hot weather comes from the basics .. having a great primer! Priming your face is a must-do when it comes to the heat .. and this Stila primer has 8 hour long lasting wear that keeps your face moisturized and smooth! I love water-based products because it’s very hydrating and cooling. The best thing about this is that it decreases under-eye puffiness! (I apply a little more under my eyes with this.)

Last but not least, this is my ultimate defense against hot weather. This setting mist by Supergoop can create a matte finish as well as providing an SPF of 50! Forget about having to re-powder your face.. when you’re on the go, all you have to do is use this setting mist every 2 hours for the perfect protection against the sun!
