As I started blogging in my early/mid 20s, and as I’m about to transition into my 30s this saturday (eeep!), I think it’s safe to say that my style has evolved since I first started. Flashback a few years back my motto was “more is more”, I would wear as many bold colors as I could (ugh!), and stack on an endless amount of jewelry (as seen HERE). Whereas today “less is more”, and minimalism is something I live by. But I’ve managed to settle upon a style that has truly defined me through out the years, and it’s femininity & sophistication. No matter what “phase” I’m going through these 2 words are authentically “me.”
Wearing this outfit gives me such nostalgia because back when I first started blogging I would wear an endless amount of flowy maxi skirts and dresses, and til this day they are one of my favorite things to wear. I immediately fell in love with this whimsical and airy Joie skirt because of the soft pleats and pastel hues. Keeping consistent with the whimsy feel I paired it with my absolute favorite & softest basic white T that is so incredibly soft! Added this IRO tweed jacket to add a bit of structure & sophistication to the look. And oh… a stolen belt from the hubs closet! Absolutely love pairing thick menswear belt with feminine outfits ( You guys should try it!).
Although I’ll experiment and dabble in different styles, the core of who I am is feminine, romantic, and sophisticated. How about you? How would you describe your personal style?

I have been playing around with a lot of different styles throughout my teens and now that I’m entering my early 20’s I think I enjoy most a relaxed and slightly urban style but always chic and feminine also. You always look so effortlessly elegant. You really are an inspiration to me !
These photos are stunning!

These photos are so pretty, I love your feminine style. For me, in my early twenties, I describe my style as romantic, playful and elegant, with a touch of whimsy.
Our styles sounds similar! Thanks for reading my blog (:
Amazing style!

Hi Chriselle, I’ve been following you for several years and I was curious to see your firsts posts. One dated from March 2011 was entitled “sometimes less is more”, you haven’t changed. You are flourishing and it’s good to see how far you come! Congratulations on all of your accomplishments.

You definitely do not look like you’re turning 30! I have been following you for years now and ‘sophisticated’ and ‘feminine’ is definitely how I would describe you and your style. I look forward to seeing this evolve the next few years!

The problem with pleated clothes is they are for the privileged. I could never wash one and make it look the same ever. I am not particularly skilled with ironing out perfect pleats. And dry cleaning is a pain.
And are you talking about minimalism as an aesthetic or minimalism as of rejecting consumption ?
Hi Archana, You can try handwashing your pleated skirts and then air drying it! Steaming can also make your pleats look as good as new, instead of ironing. Best wishes, xo

less is more is what i take from your style everytime 🙂
I love how airy this look is! Looking back at your old post I can see the evolution but I think the base of your style still remains. We all change – used to only wear black and never go near a dress. Now I’m all about color and experimentation.
