Funny how certain things will haunt you for life. That embarrassing nickname that your oldest cousin gave you, the time you shaved off your eyebrows so you could look more like Pam Anderson, and of course, all the amazing and amazingly regretful trends you adopted back in the 90’s. Yes, this is my life story, and I’m still trying to figure out how to grow my eyebrows back in! But who knows, maybe the no-brow look will make a comeback soon?
But if there’s one thing I’m proud of from the 90’s? The risks I took with bold trends such as baggy wide legged jeans, dark vampy lips, chokers, and of course, layering my shirts under my dresses. Speaking of layering … how appropriate is this Louis Vuitton outfit I’m wearing here? The Louis Vuitton show was the highlight of my fashion month. First of all, it was my first year of being invited to the LV show which was an honor in itself, and being able to wear a full Louis Vuitton look? I was over the moon.
I decided to go with this outfit because it reminded me of what I wore back in the 90’s, but a more polished grown up version. I paired this gorgeous asymmetrical blouse (similar here!) with this strappy maxi dress, which was a perfect solution to the chilly Paris weather. But the best part? The accessories! These cool combat boots (like these) made me feel like a total badass, and of course, this amazing purse. I love that Nicolas Ghesquiere of Vuitton has been so forward thinking and playing it up with their campaign like using unexpected models like Jaden Smith for the women’s campaign or the video game character Final Fantasy’s Lightning for LV Series 4.
Although the weather is warming up, this is a great way to bring your spring and summer dresses into more weather-appropriate, as I’ve done here and here. But instead of using a turtleneck like I usually do- try wearing your favorite button-down underneath!
Thank you so much, Vuitton and team for having me at your show, it was a dream come true. Have a great day everyone!
