So I might not be the best cook, but I love spending time in the kitchen with my family! It’s where the world was first introduced to #DancingChloChlo! Kitchens are the heart beat of the house, so I’m so excited to have Kathy Kuo back on the blog to share her tips to get a gorgeous white and bright kitchen! Be sure to check out Kathy’s older posts here and here! Enjoy!

Spring is here, and there’s nothing more refreshing this time of year than a white and bright kitchen. All-white kitchens will always be a designer favorite. We love looks that are sleek and simple, and white kitchens offer a range of so many different design options, so you can truly make your kitchen your own. Go all-white with Carrara marble countertops, subway tile on the walls, and white cabinetry with glass front doors, or add hints of wood, steel, or color. Here are a few of our favorite all-white kitchens and some tips to guide you along the way.

1. White and Wood.
For some, all-white can be a little too cold and minimalist. One way to warm up the environment in a white kitchen is to add natural wood accents to incorporate a cozy, rustic feel. If you read our article on trending materials, you’ll know we loved reclaimed wood for the ceiling beams, floors, countertops, or for the bar stools and dining table.

2. Bold Accents.
The all-white kitchen is a timeless, neutral room that we’ll see in interiors over and over again. So make your white kitchen your own with unexpected pops of personality! Play with color and pattern in the fabric of your window treatments, your dishes, and throw pillows if you have a bench or breakfast nook in the kitchen (which we highly recommend). The all-white kitchen is also a great place to bring in greenery or pops of color from fresh florals, like peonies or hydrangeas.

3. Mixed Metals.
We’ve talked about mixed metals in the past, but we especially encourage you to incorporate this look into the all-white kitchen. Gold, copper, brass, and stainless steel are all viable options. Adding metallic tones will bring warmth and glamour to the design—almost like jewelry for the kitchen. One of our favorite places to stick in some metal? Pendants above the kitchen island. Or hang your pots and pans for a charming countryside feel.

4. Keep It Clean.
If you’re a bit dubious on keeping these stunning kitchens sparkling, you’re not alone. Food and grease particles overtime can cause your white kitchen to yellow, even if you regularly clean it. So to keep your kitchen pearly white, here are a few preventative measures to take:
-Always turn on your exhaust fan or range hood when boiling, broiling or frying to filter out grease particles before they hit the countertops.
-Wash your cabinetry with 1 cup of vinegar, 2 cups of warm water, and 1 tablespoon of baking soda. This fizzy mixture works wonders!
-“Bathe” your kitchen monthly in a solution of warm water and a grease-cutting dish soap.
-Make sure to blot spills immediately, and don’t use any acids or abrasives on natural stone.

Shall We Sasa
I definitely don’t like a super all white room. Too bland. No life. I especially like the bold accents and mixed metals. Even in the first tip, it’s still too blase for me. I want sunshine, a feeling that a lively family lives her, sophisticated 🙂
