If you’re wondering how to prolong the shelf life of your beauty products, did you know some of them can actually live in the fridge?
Yes, I know it sounds funny, but there’s actually a ton of skincare and makeup products that can (literally) chill in your fridge! Some chilled products last longer, some give you more skincare benefits, and some just feel SO GOOD when they’re chilled! I know it sounds crazy, but trust me on this.
Keep scrolling to check out what beauty products I keep in the fridge:
Eye Cream
What’s the first thing you notice about your eyes when you wake up? Puffy under-eye bags? I thought so. So what’s the solution? Try storing your eye cream in the fridge. It’s nice and cool, so the temperature can help your eyes de-puff. My eye cream pick right now is the BubbleWrap from Glossier. It’s super lightweight, has hyaluronic acid in it which makes it very hydrating, and feels amazing. PS – Would you guys like a post about eye creams? Do you all use an eye cream?
Sunscreen
At the end of the summer, pop your sunscreen (the one you used at the beach or pool) into your fridge! The cold environment helps keep your SPF working at top-notch. To check out my go-to sunscreens for myself and the girls, click this post here! And although summer is coming to an end, remember you still need to wear sunscreen to protect yourself from harmful UVA rays that are just as strong year-round.
Nail Polish
The best way to preserve your nail polish is to keep it in a cool dark environment- aka the fridge! Sunlight and warmth are very damaging to polishes, making them clumpy and discolored. I’ve been loving this classic red polish from Chanel, it’s such a classic color, you can’t go wrong!
PRO TIP: If you need your eyes instantly de-puffed, just stick a spoon in the freezer for a few minutes and press it lightly to your undereye bags!
Fragrance
Yep, that’s right – you can keep your fragrances in the fridge! If it’s exposed to too much light, like on your dresser or bathroom counter, the fragrance can break down and not smell the same over time! Keeping it in the fridge ensures your perfume smells just as good as it is on day one.
Lipstick
So if you have one lipstick that you use on the daily, it doesn’t have to be kept in the fridge, but for storage and preservation, keeping your lipsticks in the fridge is the best way to keep them looking great. Heat can melt them, break them, and decompose over time! My favorites right now? The YSL Liquid Lip, the Honest Beauty Tinted Lip Balm and the Tom Ford Lip Gellee.
Mists, Masks, and Tools
If you keep ANYTHING in the fridge, let it be your face mists, sheet masks, and jade roller/gua sha tools! Your face mist will reach a whole new level of refreshing… your sheet masks will be THAT much more soothing and your roller/gua sha will feel like a dream! The chilly temps will help de-puff, tighten skin, and help reduce any inflammation you might have!

Whenever the temperature raises I move my most precius lippies in the fridge, to hang out with the foundations from my MUA kit and my lipstick palettes. I never thought to put my spf in there tho, so that’s going in next. And of course my hydrating mist, the jade roller and eye patches have their own little space as well 🙂
