Hi all- it’s Hannah! As I’m sure you know, everyone on the CINCteam knows the power of a good face mask.
While it might not solve ALL of our problems- trust me I’ve tried, it’s one of our favorite ways to practice self-care. On top of getting our skin 💯- it’s the best time ever to catch up on emails or tv, paint your nails, or if you’re really in the mood, throw on a hair mask, and take a soak in some relaxing bath salts and REALLY mask n’ chill.
Masks come in all shapes and sizes- sheet masks, mud masks, gel masks, peel away masks… the list goes on and on! With so many different kinds on the market, it can make choosing a mask that’s perfect for you and your skin type very overwhelming. But don’t you worry, the Editorial Team (Editorial Director Jane & Editorial Intern Gigi, and me of course) have spent the last few weeks testing and vetting some of the best face masks- all for you ‘cause we hate spending money on things that don’t work. That should be illegal.Â

Skin Type: Combination
Skin Concerns: Blackheads, large pores, and sensitive to certain acids.
Wearing: Superberry Hydrate and Glow Dream Mask by Youth to the People
Thoughts:
This mask made my skin super bouncy, supple & hydrated! 10/10 would recommend — esp b/c it’s free of sulfates, parabens, all the bad stuff 😉 It’s technically an overnight mask, but I like to put it on before I shower to give my skin a little hydration boost!
When I say it’s hydrating, I really mean it! The mask is formulated with Squalane and Hyaluronic Acid which both deliver insane amounts of moisture to your skin. Not to mention it also has Vitamin C which is great for brightening!
Other favorite masks:
Sitting next to the YTTP mask on my top shelf is the Dr. Barbara Sturm Face Mask, the Kate Somerville Pink Plumping Mask and the Elemis Superfood Berry Boost Mask. All three masks work so well together because they’re all super moisturizing! The Barbara Sturm mask has chamomile and aloe vera which feel amazing to help calm my skin! The Pink Plumping Mask from Kate Somerville is my go-to when my skin is feeling a little dull- mostly because it has 3 sizes of hyaluronic acid, which basically means extra plumping AND hydrating!
When I feel like my skin needs a detox, the Superfood Berry Boost Mask helps to purify all of my problem areas. Like I said above I can sometimes have some blackheads pop up, so the Brazilian clay, the black tea extract, blackcurrant seed oil, and Nordic bilberry extract all help to clear my complexion and hydrate!
Currently Watching:Â
Game of Thrones, and patiently waiting for Stranger Things to come back.
Jane
Skin Type:Â Sensitive, combination, and pretty much annoying.
Skin Concerns: Dry patches around the nose and chin, a little redness, adult acne.
Wearing: Violet-C Radiance Mask by Tatcha
Thoughts:
So I had to try this mask after boss bae Chriselle posted it on her Instagram. I’ve been using Tatcha nonstop since I met the team but was really intrigued by the purple color. This mask left my skin feeling so moisturized and vibrant. It has 2 types of Vitamin C’s for that glow up and antioxidant protection and AHA that removes dead skin cells and supports new skin cell growth.
Pair that mask with the Olive and June nail polish in TARA for the ultimate chill factor. I love that these polishes are vegan, cruelty-free and 7-free!Â
Other favorite masks:
Dr. Barbara Sturm Mask: For extra moisture and baby smooth skin. This mask is unique because you just rub it off versus washing it off.
Summer Fridays Overtime Mask: If you’re in need of an instant glow, look no more. This exfoliating mask has vitamins A, K and C in it which means your skin is left looking a bit more illuminating than before.
YTTP Superfood Mask: This mask is great for the days after you had one too many glasses of wine or didn’t properly remove all of your makeup the night before. Packed with superfoods, this mask smells delicious and gives your face an instant radiant boost.
What I’m Watching: Pen15, True Detective, Broad City, This Is Us, Modern Family, and anxiously awaiting the return of Handmaid’s Tale!

Skin Type: Normal/Oily
Skin Concerns: Clogged pores around my nose.
Wearing: Goddess Skin Clay Mask by Charlotte Tilbury
Thoughts:
I was wonderfully shocked by how much I loved this mask. Though I’m a huge fan of Charlotte Tilbury makeup, I’ve only ever dipped my toes into her Magic Cream as far as skincare goes. I had initially gotten the recommendation for this mask from Chriselle and I knew I had to test it out for myself.
For some reason, which I have no idea (okay, maybe all the wine…) my pores have been NOT good recently. I had little itty bitty white heads popping up, and somehow my skin was simultaneously dry and greasy all at the same time. I threw on this mask around my problem areas and within 20 minutes my skin was SO SMOOTH. Like, baby’s bottom soft. Safe to say this is my favorite new mask.
It’s got Spanish clay which is great for getting all the gunk out of your pores and Rosehip oil which makes your skin crazy soft, along with frangipani flower and sweet almond oil which are both great for soothing, nourishing and anti-aging!
If you’re looking for a mask to cleanse, purify, smooth, and just leave you looking like a goddess- this is the mask for you!
Other favorite masks:
My other favorite masks at the moment are the In-Depth Hydration Face Mask by Circumference and the Licence to Chill Mask by Anese! I use the Circumference mask after I spend a day laying out by the pool because it’s probably one of the most moisturizing masks I’ve ever used. It’s got amazing hydrating oils and plant extracts to seriously quench your skin’s thirst. I’ll even put it on the tops of my shoulders before I jump into the shower!
The License to Chill mask, besides having a great name, is so lovely- especially when you’ve been stressed. It smells like eucalyptus (which is ideal for de-stressing) and works amazingly all over my face, or as a spot treatment for the rogue pimple.
What I’m Watching:
