How to Win Your NYE Makeup This Year

So your NYE plans are all set.

You’ve got the perfect outfit, (if you still need one click here!) you’ve got your midnight kiss sorted, (need a kiss-proof lipstick? Click here!) but you’re missing something…

A little sparkle because is it really NYE if you’re not wearing something that shines?

What better excuse than New Year’s Eve to break out all that glitter makeup you swore you were going to wear this year. The highlighters, the shimmer eyeshadows, the glitter sticks… now’s your time to shine- literally!

My dear friend and amazing makeup artist Allison helped me create this killer NYE beauty look, and I was so obsessed with it I knew I had to share it with you all!

Using the products in the widget below, she gave me a simple eyeshadow look with a major statement wing! Plus, she created some of the most gorgeous shimmer highlighter I’ve ever seen.

To create my eye look, she created a shimmery base using the pot cream eyeshadow from Ritual de Fleur and then with an angled brush she used this liquid eyeshadow from Stila in Molten Midnight to create the wing. For some extra shimmer, she patted this highlighter across my cheekbones! Though she didn’t include any loose glitter in this makeup look, she told me that using this glitter glue here is a great way to keep larger glitter in place!

MY NYE MAKEUP

One of my favorite things about playing around with glitter and shimmer makeup is that you can really build it to be as subtle or as loud as you want it to be. For example, the gorgeous wing I have in these photos was created with a liquid eyeshadow, which you could smudge out and achieve a sparkler smokey eye!

Or instead of a statement eye, you could load up your lids with highlighters and rock a red lip, like the one I had in this post here.
