The best holiday gift I ever received was a toy laptop from my parents. I had asked for a laptop when I was young (elementary school age) and they gave me a toy one where you could draw on the screen. I was disappointed, but looking back it is humorous and thoughtful of my parents to try to satisfy my dream.

The best holiday gift I ever received was a box of a variety makeup products and scented candles from my then-boyfriend soon-to-be fiancé (in 27 days actually!!) because we were in a long distance relationship for a long time and he just wanted me to have these items I can use on a daily basis to remind me he’s always around. I remember I lost my iPhone that very day but I came home to that package and the card he wrote was everything 🙂
Being a Buddhist country Bhutan we do not celebrate Christmas as such but some families do because I think Christmas or any kind of celebration should not be only based on religion. Shes not going too…last time she had done this giveaway while pregnant with chloe-she didnt even continued and stopped the giveaway. Must of been preggo brain and mommy brain. This happened in the past so why would it happen again? Lol

I’ve been so blessed to have a mum who shares and gave me my sense of style. Last year she had noticed that I was eyeing up a sweater in Zara, and on Christmas Day I received that very same sweater and a couple of other pieces that she thought would suit me. They’re all in my wardrobe and have become my staple items in the wardrobe.

There are so many wonderful gifts I received, most special one was that my boyfriend now husband’s grandpa died a few years ago just before Christmas and before he passed away he wrote down check for me even tho I was just starting going out with my bf for a few months. I always perceived gifts as the main surprise of Christmas, however, for the first time, I did Secret Santa with my friends last year and I guess gifts is not as important as the person giving it to you. It was my first year that I deeply thought of a present I wished for. The gifts were T2 and Lush products. I’ve been very secretive with what I want and she guessed right from my personality! I love meditation and being optimistic. Receiving these gifts made me thankful for the friendship I had with my friend and I know that she’s a friend that knows me best!

I received my piano as a Christmas gift when I was around 5! I told my parents that I wanted to learn piano for a while then, and they bought me one for Christmas! I’m now still using the same piano and is prepareing for my grade 8 exam😩 Wish me luck

My best holiday gift were a pair of fuzzy socks from my mom. She wasn’t able to afford much for my sister and me, but those fuzzy socks made a memorable gift. At first, I was upset that I only got socks from her, but once I unfolded those socks, I found that there was a letter and some money tucked inside. Truthfully, getting to spend Christmas with my parents. My husband, and the rest of my family is always the best Christmas present there is.
The best holiday gift was last year when my mom got me a ticket to Los Angeles. I got to spend Christmas and New Year’s there with my cousins and my grandma (who came from Greece for the holiday). It’s an extra special gift/trip because my grandmother passed away a couple months ago, so that way her last holiday and I’m glad my cousins and I got to spend it with her.

The best holiday gift was when I got to spend a good and memorable time with my family. In case of summer holiday, once in five year I am able to go back to Asia (expensive planeticket) with one of my parents to visit family over there. Whereas before my sister moved out, we used to spend Christmas and New Years holidays with the four of us in Europe.
Luckily I have a couple good friends too and we have been trying to have a break together. So we spend a few days or a week abroad to discover each time a piece more from the world. So far we have spend time together in Munich, Paris, Rome and Crete. Even though it’s not an physical gift, it’s still an amazing gift for life. Blessed!

The best Christmas gift I’ve ever received was a paid dinner to a fancy restaurant for my husband and I! To top it off, our family offered to watch our 1 month old so we could go out and enjoy the dinner too.

My favorite gift in recent history is a holiday trip to Korea from my now-husband that doubled as an engagement gift because we also took pre-wedding photos there. He knows that I rarely wear jewelry (partly personal preference, partly job necessity), so instead of spending a lot of money on the ring, he paid for the rest of my med school tuition and gave me a trip to Korea. I am now debt free and I have some amazing photo memories. ^_^ Of course, I also have a shiny ring that he emphasized was on sale, lol.

The best holiday gift I have ever received was a little blue glass ornament that my daughter made for me in her 1st grade class. It had her handprint in white paint that had her fingers painted to be snowmen and a winter scene! Last year, my little brother got me an "owl" drawer. I'm so totally into collecting everything with "owl". Charms, earrings, necklaces, key chains, fridge magnets, t-shirts, bags, post cards, deco, you named it! He did this without me knowing, wrapped it nicely and left it under the Christmas tree at midnight of Christmas eve. We don't normally do gifts exchange in the family. Later on, I found out that my poor little brother used up his savings for that. I was touched because he searched very long for it and put so much effort in buying me that "owl" drawer when he can actually use his savings to buy himself a gift. But he got one for me instead. Well, its the thoughts that count, right? And that was the best holiday gift because I got from my little brother.

The best Christmas gift I ever received is probably a Harry Potter fleece blanket when I was 10-12 years old and à gigantic white fleece blanket I received a few years after. While it might not be the grandest, or the most exciting gift, I still have those blankets 10-15 years later and get excited every year when the temperatures drop low enough for me to stack on the blanket on the couch!

I would say that I don’t have a specific gift that’s my favourite.. The first time I’ve really had to experience Christmas gifts was last year when I met my boyfriend’s family. The whole thing was so welcoming. This was special to me since my family was not the tree and presents kind. Just go to church and have a Christmas service type. This Christmas I’m going to Spain to visit them and I’m so excited.

The best Christmas gift I’ve received is this years. Although it was given to me early but it has been the best. After 24 years of praying I was finally able to reunite with my siblings. It was a bitter sweet and very emotional reunion since we just lost our beloved daddy, but having them in my arms was the best gift I could ever ask for.

Best gift I have ever received was when I was little and my dad took the whole family back home to Taiwan for the holidays. Haven’t been able to do that since because of my brother and my different school schedules and my parents being able to take time off. The best Christmas gift that I’ve received (despite being a little late) was a flight to San Francisco. Last year a very close friend of mine had gotten into a car accident where the vehicle was flipped upside down into a ditch. Seeing how anxious and stressed out I was, my mom decided to let me travel on my own for the first time. On the 28th of December I flew up to see that friend and realized that everything was alright. He was discharged from the hospital with very minor damages. That was the best Christmas gift yet.

A stack of chocolate stuffed boxes in the form of a three tier Santa. Because it was the most memorable holiday gift. My dad sneaked it into my room while I was sleeping and waking up to it was wonderful! It was my first real Christmas surprise! I’ll always remember!
Last year, my husband and I decided that instead of exchanging gifts, we’d take a weekend trip together in December. We rented a cabin in Whistler, British Columbia and spent a day at the spa and went for a nice dinner – those memories were the best gift ever!

My mother a few years ago gifted me a set of tickets to see the Dalai Lama. The Dalai Lama was coming to town for a week-long lecture series. I was in my early 20s and it was a once in a lifetime experience. The best Christmas present which I have ever recieved has got to be the Clinique 3-step Skin care routine kit. I have probably quote that wrong :))) It was my very first skincare kit with a cleanser, a toner and a moisturizer. I have been using it ever since. And although it was alright, but I didn’t get much results from it, aside from the acne solution from Clinique which I was also using. I have acne-prone and combination skin, so I’m really looking hard for a product (besides from the solution) which would actually brings results to my face.

Since my birthday is 3 days after Christmas, my friends once threw me a surprise sweet 16 birthday party. I didn’t originally have plans so it was the sweetest gift I could’ve gotten that holiday season 🙂

It’s difficult to pick just one favorite holiday gift, but I’ll try. Two years ago, my husband gifted me with a series of facials and I’ve been getting one each month ever since. I appreciate it now the most because it gives me an hour each month to do something for myself.

About 11 years ago, my older brother was taking piano lessons, and I wanted to too so badly. So I would beg my parents to let me start and for Christmas that year, they gave me an envelope with a copy of the receipt inside, showing they had paid for my first quarter of piano lessons. Even though I no longer take lessons or practice everyday, I can still pick up sheet music and play songs when I want to unwind for a bit.
The best holiday gift I’ve every received were a couple of hand painted prints of little sumo men! Hard to explain, but by far my favorite gift!
My best holiday gift is that when I realize what I want in life. I want to succeed of being a fashion journalist, and after that Christmas, I stop asking for what I want for Christmas. I understand that what I want is the thing that I need to work hard on. Money can not buy the thing that I want and that’s the beauty of it, and hey, everybody like free things?

But that one year we did three sittings and got to see EVERY one of the family members was the best present. Especially because we’re not big on presents but rather on traditions. Everyone getting together on holidays is how I grew up but the family ever so expanding and exploring the world has left a gap in get togethers! 🙂

The best gift I’ve ever received is the chance to own a cat. A few days before that Christmas we took in an abandoned kitten and that little ball of fur stole my heart immediately. I begged my parents to let me keep him and on Christmas morning, they decided to let me keep him! They got me all of the supplies I would need to raise my cat as well!

My favorite holiday gift ever is my Tracy Reese coat! My parents got it for me a few years ago, it was my first real designer piece ever, and is still my favorite piece in my closet.
My best gift was from my mother :$ she bought a box and decorated it with cherryblossom flowers(they are my favourite) and inside the box she made little squares and in them she put cute papers. On the papers she wrote little quotes and sentences for life that when I look back at them and read them they can help me be happy or get through my hardships and always remember that my parents are here for me!

Growing up, we didn’t have much. The best Christmas gift I ever received was from our neighbor. My mom was a single mom raising three kids. She was never able to afford Christmas presents for us so our neighbor would buy us a Christmas tree, help us decorate it AND bought presents for all of us. We were so grateful for their generosity and it always made my mom cry. We thanked her the only way we knew how and drew her thank you cards and made rice Krispy treats. Even now when my siblings and I reminisce about our childhood, we get emotional thinking about how lucky we were to have such kind people in our lives.

The best holiday gift I’ve ever received was love. That sounds incredibly sappy but my mom passed away from cancer when I was eleven, and I’ve never had a great relationship with my step mother. But two years ago my husband and I flew out to stay with his mom for Christmas (my first time meeting her) and it was the first time I’d experienced that kind of family togetherness since my mom left us. Fiona (my mother in law) didn’t have to like me. In fact I think she had every reason to dislike me; my husband and I were married in secret due so my health insurance wouldn’t lapse, and so that we’d be able to live together and I’d receive care if he were deployed. We told his mom a month after we’d tied the knot and I could tell she was sad to have not met me yet or been there for her son. But when did finally meet her she was so accepting. I know she loves me, and anyone who’s grown up without a mom can understand how much that means. You just miss that kind of love and affection, theirs nothing like it.
Our relationship is still growing, but I know she cares for me. It’s such a good feeling, and I just appreciate her so much!

This will sound weird. I got an LV purse last year from my husband that I’ve always wanted. He had gotten this purse up north when he went to visit his family and my daughter and I were not able to go since she got really sick. He wanted to show me that he loved me and I deserved something nice. I ended up returning the purse because I realized that my husband is too sweet to want to spoil me but he had just gotten me a purse a couple years ago before that. It was a sweet gesture but I realized that I don’t need a purse to feel special and that all I wanted and needed was my little family. My husband and daughter is all I need and last year his gift made me see that it’s the thought that counts.

When I was a senior in high school, I drove a 1992 Cutlass Sierra with a cassette player/radio combo. I desperately wanted a CD player, but back then, they were very expensive to have installed in a car. I begged my parents for one. Christmas Eve came and went with no mention of a CD player. I was so disappointed. On Christmas morning, my parents told me to go outside. I screamed when I realized my old car had a new CD player. My dad stayed up all night long installing it himself. At the time, I don’t think I truly appreciated his love and generosity. Now, I’m so thankful, and I hope to emulate those qualities with my daughter.

Korea as a missionary and never bought clothes or anything nice for myself in years and it was such a heart warming gift as my MIL doesn’t have much for herself. Spending time with my loved ones is always the best gift… so happy that we dont live to far away from each other. But thinking about it now… I remember when i lived in Tasmania for a year (Im from sweden). Celebrating christmas far away and in that tropical heat was a bit different. But that gift i got that year as perfect and so well needed. My family recorded a movie that was so sweet, and handwritten letters. And filled the envelope with my favourite sweets and thing that missed from home. 💕 a very sweet thing to do.

I think the best gift I’ve ever received was an American girl doll when I was little. I know it sounds a little cheesy and I’ve received so many awesome gifts over the years, but as a kid, this was legit the only thing I ever wanted. I had my heart set on the dolls and I was so jealous of all of my friends who had them. When I finally got one, I was ecstatic and I kept it and played with it forever. Best holiday gift is getting to attend my mom’s work holiday party, as it is still a running tradition at her workplace, and being able to make the time for it is pretty special.
My family actually never gave Christmas gifts growing up, so the best gift I’ve probably ever received was during the time I volunteered at a homeless shelter during Christmas last year. I didn’t receive any physical gifts, but the love and company I received during that experience was unforgettable.

Every year my favorite gift is a new ornament. From a young age my parents started the tradition of Santa gifting me an ornament for the tree that represents something from my life from the past year (a NY ornament when I moved there, or a photo ornament from graduation, etc). Our tree is always full of memories. I can’t wait to start the tradition with my boyfriend with an ornament from Paris as we’ll be there for the holiday!

Hmmm the best holiday gift I’ve received…probably the first CD walkman my mom got me. Looking back on it I think I kind of forced her into it because I was 10 and I was positive she was going to make my xmas wish come true so I bought a CD with my own money. When I think of gifts that one is my favorite because it makes me think of how much my mom has done for me and I hope that I can repay that to her by being a good daughter.

Last year, a beautiful necklace from my husband and my twin daughters (who were then only two months old!). When I wear the necklace I always remember the first Christmas with my daughters and my husband as a family of four (as it was written in the card that accompanied the necklace). I am so excited for our second Christmas together!
The best holiday gift I ever received, was when my grandma made me a pillow that had my name and was beautiful decorated. I still use it til this day despite it not matching anything I have. The best gift I have ever received was in fact a gift I made to my husband. It was a concert ticket to see his favourite Jazz artist. It was a little getaway weekend at the same time and the reaction of astonishment and joy on his face was priceless. On top of that I had such a great weekend with my husband and I enjoyed the concert immensely, so it felt as if I had made a gift to myself too.

Wow! This is a hard one. I can talk about the most memorable holiday gift I received, but it has a sad memory attached to it. I had a BFF who was a very creative gift giver. She usually gave combination gifts that included homemade cookies, pottery she crafted, and something unique she found in her travels. The last Christmas I saw her (she died the following new year on January 6) she gifted me with a beautiful glass pin that she found on one of her trips to San Francisco. The pin was made by a San Francisco jewelry maker and had gold highlights. Unfortunately, after so many years, the pin fell on the floor and broke irreparably. Still I put it in a box because I can’t bring myself to let it go. I’ve even thought of asking an Etsy artist to recreate it, if that’s possible.

The best holiday gift I’ve got so far was the handmade photo album from my BFF. It has all those memories we shared together and it is the thing I will keep forever and show my kids in the future. So cherish gift I can never imagine to lose it, love it s o much! The gift which is expensive to afford would be great too but I really rather getting the hand made one which never can be bought and it is just one in the world.
