Who said pink can’t be cool? Pink was always my favorite color growing up, but as I got older, I started shying away from it because I realized that the “ cool girls” weren’t into it. But today I can tell you that I still love pink, and I still think it’s freaking cool. I mean can we talk about how sophisticated and strong this full Elie Saab outfit is? I wore this look to their show during Paris fashion week, and I definitely felt strong & powerful in it. Although I love my feminine pieces, I tend to stay away from outfits that are over the top girly girl. I’m constantly asking myself, “How can I make this girly piece look edgier?” So here are my five tips on how to wear the color pink.
1. Focus on the silhouette.
Shape is everything. If you have a streamlined pair of trousers (like these), they can instantly make a girly color look extremely strong & powerful.
2. Monochrome.
It might sound counterintuitive because you’d think a head to toe pink outfit would look too girly, but it can actually make it look stronger. If you’re going to wear a color, wear it all the way.
3. Masculinize It.
Pair it with something more masculine, such as a boxy coat like the one I’m wearing here. Or even adding a men’s leather jacket over a girly dress will add a cool element to something more feminine.
4. Hardware.
Use hardware for your accessories. Instead of a typical leather purse, use a hardshell angular clutch to toughen up the look. Although I’m not wearing any jewelry in this outfit, you can always add on a strong cuff or a silver neck plate or choker.
5. Rock it.
Be confident and walk like a badass in pink. At the end of the day, it’s all about the attitude. Remember it’s what you make of the color!

I agree with your tips, I’d also add stay away from very girly hair and makeup and go with something simple and elegant (just as you did here.) It can also make all the difference.
And the coat is just FABULOUS!

Beautiful, Chriselle. *.* I started liking pink very late in my life mostly due to the fact that I grew up surrounded by boys. But now, I find it incredibly cool if, as you said here, the silhouette of the piece matches my taste.
I like the silhouette of the pant. I agree with it making it less over the top girly – which bugs me like it bugs you. Nice addition of the jacket 🙂
