Braided Blues

In case you guys haven’t heard me say it enough, I absolutely LOVED Tulum. It was so quiet since we went during the off-season, so I was able to spend a lot of quality time with Allen and Chloe. Although I live right by the beach, my beach experience in Tulum was totally different. The waters were so clear and blue that we went to the beach every day because we couldn’t get enough. Or at least Chloe couldn’t get enough! She’s defiantly an Aquarius sign because she’s the happiest when she’s in the water.

It was so humid in Tulum that I basically lived in off shoulder tops the entire time. I love how airy and feminine this Designers Remix top (similar HERE!) is, not to mention, pinstripes are super flattering. When you’re on vacation, especially in tropical weather, it’s so important to wear comfortable shoes. We had to buy Allen flip-flops because he had forgotten to pack beach shoes. I basically lived in these leather pleated Tibi sandals the entire time. They’re so comfortable and were totally perfect for walking along the beach.

When you’re in such humid weather it’s hard to wear anything but your bathing suit. What I like to do is play with my accessories to make the outfit special. Remember, it’s all in the details. I love the braided detail of these shorts. It adds a more textured element to an otherwise classic pair of denim shorts. This season when you guys are headed to the beach, I would recommend playing with small elements such as a statement necklace or braided denim details to amp up your outfit.
