If I’ve learned anything in this industry it’s that some of the most beautiful things happen by mistake. When I got approached to collaborate with Bvlgari on their B.zero1 collection, I got so excited, I wanted everything to be perfect! Using a clean back drop and this gorgeous red lace dress I wanted to make the B.zero1 rings the focal point. I really wanted to capture the elegance and timelessness of the pieces.
The sunlight, which we initially thought was working against us, turned out to be the perfect prop. We used the lace from the dress to cast a shadow which created drama and mystery. We ended up just going with it and we even let the backdrop and background shine through into the shot! I think it adds more depth and dimension into the photos … What do you guys think? Inspired by Rome’s Colosseum the B.zero1 rings originally did not meet the designer’s request. However, the design was so beautiful that the ‘B.zero1 perfect mistake’ was revealed to the world. It’s funny how easy it is to over think things when trying so hard to create perfection. Reminding you guys to embrace the mistakes and imperfections in life because everything happens for a reason!
