How to Make Your Scent Last All Day

You might think the finishing touch to my outfits would be a bag, or my black choker (shop similar one here) but it’s actually something you can’t see in photographs. It’s perfume! It’s usually the last thing I put on before I head out the door and it can make all the difference. I love investing in scents because let’s face it, the power of a woman is all in the subtleties. While picking your perfect scent is hard enough, making that perfect scent last all day is an even bigger battle. So after trial and error and a lot of research, I’ve compiled my tips and tricks into this post on how to make your scent last all day!

1. The Vaseline/Moisture Factor

Apply a bit of Vaseline on your pressure points (wrists, under your ears, your neckline, inside of your elbows and behind your knees) before spraying perfume. Vaseline can lock in the scent to your skin, making your scent last longer than applying it to dry skin! The best part is that vaseline is such an ordinary every day product, but it can make all the difference. Unscented lotion works also!

2. Pulse Points

As Coco Chanel would say, “A woman should wear perfume wherever she wants to be kissed.” aka, your pulse points! Pulse points includes the base of the throat, the inside of the wrists and below the earlobes. Apply scent to these points and you’re ready for whatever comes your way during the day!

3. Make Your Hair Flip Work Overtime

Your hair holds scents the longest, so after you spray your perfume on your pulse points (don’t forget your clothes too!) spritz some in your hair as well. But be careful not to overdo it!

4. Start off Steamy

Spray your perfume after you get out of a hot shower. Your pores will be open and the scent will soak into your skin and stick around longer!

5. Give Your Perfume the Cold Shoulder

Perfume bottles are gorgeous, sure, but displaying them in the sunlight can break down the liquid! Heat, light, and humidity can lessen the quality of the fragrance. Store your perfume in a cold dark place away from humidity to give them a longer lifespan.

And there you have it! My tips for making that beautiful scent last all day long! Do you have any tips that you use? And be sure to shop my favorite scents below! Have a great day everyone!
