Being in New York for Fall is one of my absolute favorites. I love the changing leaves and the deep hues associated with this season. I’m finally breaking away from my white monochromatic looks and trying something new! The perfect summer-to-fall transition outfit is playing with textures and pairing a suede skirt with a trench coat! This khaki trench is a great transition piece and its neutral color can work with any outfit. I paired it with this suede skirt with scalloped detail. Suede is the perfect texture for fall, and the scalloped detail is a nod to feminine while still remaining on trend. I shot this while I was in LA, so the lightweight fabric of the trench coat was perfect for facing the tail end of the LA summer heat. But you can bet that I also packed this trench coat for NY! There’s nothing more chic than walking down 5th avenue with a flowing trench coat and (chunky) heels!

For Fall, I really want to encourage you guys to play with textures! My outfit is simple, but it’s really the details that pull everything together. I love pairing this simple linen top with this suede scallop skirt. When wearing neutrals, adding different textures breaks up the outfit and can add interest.
