…. And i’m back with my first post pregnancy outfit ! As you guys can see .. I still have a bit of a belly. To be honest, I didn’t know what to expect after I gave birth. Call me oblivious, but I thought I would lose my belly weight right away, but i’ve now realized that it actually takes time (like everything else in life!). As you can see, it currently looks similar to how my belly was in my first trimester. Although I do want to get my fitness on right away, my priority right now is to eat healthy and to nurse Chloe! The past 3 weeks has been exhaustingly amazing, and although i’ve been running on 2-3 hours of sleep, i’ve never been happier. It’s been intense & exhausting, but a total cliche in that it’s magical.
Lots have changed, and I can’t wait to update you all on my life changes in the next few posts, but the most obvious one? TIME! I’ve always wished there was more time during the day so I can get more done, but now? some extra time so I could simply use the restroom..is that too much to ask for?? HA! So as you can imagine there is barely any time for me to do my hair or makeup, so I’ve basically been living in hats when I go out! I mentioned before (HERE) that I love wide brim fedoras, but I especially love this Eugenia Kim hat for its feminine quality and the metallic band. Add a pop of red on the lips and no one will know that I’ve developed huge under eyes due to my lack of sleep! ( My secret formula to looking extra chic when tired… oversized hats + red lips!)
Anyways I hope you all have an amazing Monday, and if you guys have any tips on postpartum recovery please let me know in the comment section below!

Love the hat and the “belly” that’s really not there!

You’ll slowly get back to how you looked before, so don’t focus on that now. You look awesome and I can guarantee you are an awesome mom! ^^
you look marvelous!
get a belly band. It will help move things back in place and keep things tight while you recover. Honestly, I didn’t lose all the baby weight until after I stopped breast feeding.
If you nurse, i also recommend a hands free nursing bra when you pump which i listed here: http://www.thekimchronicles.com/10-nontraditional-items-to-add-to-your-baby-registry/
you look absolutely stunning 🙂 congratulations.. Chloe Victoria Chen is absolutely gorgeous 🙂 stay blessed <3

Welcome back :)! You look wonderful, i hope you feel the same. One tip i have for belly is to wear a band during the day, it helps your belly ro go back to its original form quicker. I did it, my mom did, and almost all my friends did too and it’s not uncomfortable, you get used to it. It’s an old trick that my grandmother passed on to us and we seem to have good results.
As far as exercising, take it slow and easy. Get the approval from your doctor first and then go for it, because your body is adjusting to this new change. It can be very dangerous. I didn’t go back to my exercise routine until 3 months after but i was ok with it because i was lost with so much love from my new baby. Looking forward on reading more about your experience!!! <3

I love this post. It shows you’re a real person and not so consumed about your appearance and weight. Love that you’re focus is on time and acknowledging it does take time to lose the baby weight. I have 4 kids all two years apart and it took me one year to lose the weight for each pregnancy. Enjoy this time and motherhood. You didn’t even hit your first month yet. Your body is still changing back to its pre pregnancy state. You’re a mom!! It’s the best thing Congrats!!!! By the way I live in your hometown and love all your posts in downtown! Didn’t know some of those places existed!!
You still look gorgeous! Don’t worry about it! My mom said after the first child, you lose most of the weight really quickly. Just eat healthy and exercise when you can, but honestly, taking care of a child is going to be your workout.
Anyway, congratulations again Chriselle! Chloe is going to be the cutest little baby girl ever!

Hi! First of all congratulations for your baby girl!
I had my first baby nearly 5 months ago and it is true when they say it goes quickly!
As many mommies already said in their comments take your time! If you exercise too soon you might cause hernias to apear and bladder issues! I live in France and we are lucky to have postpartum physiotherapy payed by the health system. You can also do some exercises at home to help you recover like kegels.
Also for the tearing massages with essential oils help with the healing.
Xoxo
I hope i look this good 3 Weeks after my baby!!
I Love The hat…I can’t wait to hear more about your experiences.

My only advice is to chill on the belly bump being a bad thing idea. It takes up to six weeks for your uterus to shrink back down to it’s normal size. Talk to your doctor and ask when she or he says it’s ok to start a fitness routine. In the meantime eat healthy whole foods and enjoy your wee one xo it goes by quickly!
Just look after yourself and your family, the body will follow. I’m a huge believer in hats as i hate washing my hair more than every three days. Hat’s are bad-hair-day savers! And I love your glittery hat 😀

First and foremost, listen to your doctor. She or he will tell you when it’s okay to start working out. They say it takes six weeks for your uterus to shrink back to its original size so give yourself a break. You gave birth…that deserves rest and also deserves respect. Your body is beautiful! Don’t worry about the softness…love your body as much as you love your little’s body. xo
wishing you the best with readjusting to your new beloved addition! rest and eat well <3

You look so chic and absolutely beautiful. I’m touched that you shared pics so soon after giving birth. I had my first child 5 weeks ago and I have been struggling with the no make up and zero time for hair styling issue. I’ve done the fedora and red lip and bright pink lip every time I’ve gone out lol it’s a life saver!!!
You look stunning and I love that dress !
Hi Chriselle!
Congratulations on the new addition to your family!!! This is my first time commenting on your blog even though I’ve been a loyal reader for a while.
I just had my 2nd baby under 3 months ago so I know exactly the kind of exhaustion your body is going through. With my first I was so oblivious to the new lifestyle and therefore had occasional baby blues. It took 3 weeks to be able to walk properly after my first baby and only 7 days after my 2nd. What REALLY helped was the daily full body massages from my aunt using Rub A535. For tearing I used tylenol(safe for breastfeeding) provided by the Dr and polysporin and it sped up the recovery dramatically. Keep using your bio oil to fade out the stretch marks if you have any.
To free up a little time I find that mine really likes being in a swing and I have my mother in law looking after her so I can get some things done around the house. Since the nights are long I always try to make it exciting by watching a movie on TV, korean soap operas and drinking a different tea every night. Hope you get more sleep soon mama!!!
You look absoluetly stunning ! The photography is beautifully done and I just added your hat to my must have list! Great to hear you’re enjoying motherhood.
You look just lovely Chriselle! You can’t tell you just had a baby!

your’e right everything takes time! My variation on your “disguise ” was always to wear great sunglasses & red lipstick, great for the school run etc when you want to look groomed but have no time! (An occupational hazard once you have children).
You look great! My belly looked like I was 5 months pregnant after I gave birth to my son. Eat heathy is more important now 🙂
Ya look great! I miss dresses. Up here in Canada, we’ve many feet of snow and the plows are doing a horrible job! No dresses and/or heels until Spring!

Honestly, I think that us women need to start to love our bodies bellies or no bellies – after all that belly is there because you did the most beautiful thing a human can do – loved and nurtured your baby and brought it into the world!
