Cupcaking
Photography by Karen Chen
Just landed in Hong Kong, and I can’t even express my excitement to be here! There is so much energy and vibrancy to this city…it’s incredible. Tomorrow, well actually in a few hours, I have a big shoot/ project I’m working on with Elle Hong Kong, so I’ll be keeping today’s post fairly short.
Food has always been a big interest and passion of mine, hence all the food Instagram photos, but it wasn’t until this year my outfits started to reflect the things I ate. The other day my outfit was inspired by Watermelon (my favorite Summer fruit), and todays outfit inspiration? A cupcake! There’s a certain gratification that comes from biting into a delicious moist cupcake with cream cheese filling, and same goes for the feeling when you can whirl and twirl around in a big pink Rochas Cupcake skirt! First a watermelon, now a cupcake, hmmmm I wonder whats next??
Also it’s my first time in Hong Kong, so any recommendations on places to go, eat, and shop would be highly appreciated! Thanks loves!

I love the style of these photos! What a beautiful shoot. Also, I know you’re in Korea now. I just returned myself and miss it dearly! Thought I’d share some of our photos too: http://www.thekimchronicles.com/kims-in-korea-busan-part-3/
And definitely hit up Lan Kwai fong for the best party scene there is in hk!
You should definitely check out Mong Kok for some really cheap shopping! Little markets and stalls crammed into one densely backed shopping center called Mong Kok center! And if you want more high end stuff, you should go to IFC and harbour city 🙂 and as for food, you should try out the maxim’s dim sum for traditional old school dim sum (where the ladies push the karts!!)
Wow that’s a gorgeous skirt, love the organza texture! Feels like icing on a cupcake =D

You can go to “yum cha” (the Chinese way of having breakfast in a Chinese style restaurant). It’s a must try for food. As for sightseeing, you may visit the peak and the cable car ride in NP360. For shopping, try the Sogo shopping mall in Causeway Bay (The most crowded place in HK). Btw, if I remember it correctly, there is a BIG sale there now. So check it out if you have time.
I am a Hongkonger and hope you have a nice trip here.
I love that skirt, great look! I’m really liking the food themed outfits haha
