My fashion week style is totally different than my every day style. From bold colors to backwards tops, it’s a time that I get to experiment with different looks, and wear something I would not wear on a day-to-day basis. So for my first day off during Paris fashion week, I found myself reaching for neutrals! Surprise surprise! hah! Tailored trousers, a beige cape, a cozy sweater and and a silk handkerchief is my idea of the perfect Parisian outfit. This amazing cape trench coat by White House Black Market (On sale now!) was the perfect way to finish off the look.
When I first went to Paris a few years ago, I actually imagined that Parisian women would be dressed in pink, and a-line skirts while eating macaroons and riding bicycles- but it’s actually quite the opposite! After experiencing the culture and people watching at some of my favorite cafes in Paris, I’ve fallen in love with the fact that Parisian women are very casual. Everything from their minimal makeup to their effortless style, Parisian women are just mesmerizing!

Thank you so much Elizabeth T.! xx Chriselle
I love this look! Trés trés chic!
I lived in the South of France for a few years and they dress very differently there to Paris. Some had Parisian chic down, mostly younger girls in Nice (which I could never get 100%) though the demographic is a lot older, hence more make up, bouffant hair, all year round tan, a lot more use of colour which could be due to it being the SOF more carefree and more times than I wanted to see, mutton dressed as lamb. You had to admire their attitude with it! However on the whole, they had the effortless, I just threw this on chic which i think is in part due to their attitude and confidence!
Chriselle, you never fail to amaze me with your chicness. Love your elegant yet still playful style.
Been following you for a while now, and you’ve been one of the inspirations for me to start my own blog 🙂

I visited Paris this year for the first time and I absolutely fell in love with the city and the energy that it has. I’ve visited most of European capitals and countries but Paris is my number 1. Your outfit is on point, as always. ?

Visiting Psris changed my perception of ‘parisian chic’ as well. Just like the european region, woman has less makeup on and are more casual & minimal. Just right enough to be womanly and borderline cool-boyish 🙂 Love the outfit Chriselle!

Oh wow Chriselle – you have perfectly embodied the Parisian style, as well as staying true to your own, which is equally as impeccable. The combination of the cape, the scarf around the neck and white fringed loafers is definitely a winner. Keep up the amazing work Chriselle (and team!).

The minimalist look is wonderful. I recently came across a young woman’s blog showcasing her decision to eliminate color from her wardrobe and wear only a monochromatic look. Very interesting!
Furthermore I always welcome feedback on my own blog from others, as I’m making moves to tweak its design. Cheers everyone <3

people watching in paris… that sounds like a lovely day 🙂
I love this look, Chriselle! I’ve never been to France before, but to hear you mention how Parisian women are simple in style, is definitely something I’ve heard before. They also take a very minimal approach to makeup as well. My mom, who has a lot of friends from France, was telling me that they just simply invest in the best of everything, in things that they’ll use and wear for years and years to come; like a Burberry trench or a really amazing face cream. She mentioned skin care is way more important than makeup and when makeup is used, it’s the best. I really admire their approach and outlook on life. She also works with a lot of Parisians and they have more of a laid back vibe, a sharp contrast to the fast paced New York City environment she works in. But, I really admire it 🙂
Thanks for sharing and I hope you have an amazing day, beautiful!

I absolutely agree on your perspective about the French women, in one simple sentence, they are effortless, chic and minimalistic natural is their way if life. They believe and invest their looks starting from the inner rather than the outer. I truly believe in this rule because my Maman is one of them. 🙂
This is a very beautiful look of the French style. Absolutely fabulous and effortless chic! 🙂
