As you guys may have heard from my snapchat (@chrisellelim).. I finally had a chance to visit my DTLA office! I haven’t been there since the last month of my pregnancy, and I have to say I was SO happy to see the LA skyline! DTLA has such a cool urban and developing feel to it, it definitely represents the cool and elusive city of dreams for me. Downtown has been my “home” for the past 6 years until I got married to Allen, and he convinced me to leave my cool bachelor(ette) pad to a quiet suburbia neighbors in Manhattan Beach. Occasionally I ask myself, “Why did I do that?”… haha i’m just kidding guys!
And maybe I was channeling the cool downtown girl in me as I got dressed that morning.. Because as much as I love feminine soft outfits, the urban LA girl in me loves outfits with a casual cool edge. As it has been incredibly hot in LA, I decided to wear my favorite boyfriend denim shorts, and pair it with this feminine IRO embroidered Mesh Insert Silk Blouse . Since denim shorts & a sheer tank is a bit too casual for my liking, I finished the look off with this black & white L’AGENCE Checker Jacket. This boxy collarless jacket adds a touch of modern sophistication to a more casual look.
I was so shocked to see how much has changed around our office in just a few short months! Like for example .. this amazing mural! I loved how there are elements of LA suburbia and beach mixed with city roads. I know art can be interpreted in many ways .. but I definitely took this mural as a visual representation of my current straddling of both Manhattan Beach & DTLA. I’m back in town and couldn’t be any happier!
Happy Friday everyone!

DTLA is life. Thanks Alice! xoxo
This shorts makes any silhouette look fat, looks cheap and dirty and doesn’t match the heels nor the bag you chose. I think it is good only for cleaning the house.
Thumbs up for the blaser and the top! Chic and girly at the same time!
Thanks for your opinion Nana! These shorts aren’t for everyone as they are an awkward length, that’s why I paired them with lace up heels to elongate my leg line. Hopefully you approve of my other outfits! xoxo
beautiful jacket!

Thanks Anova! I love the photos too!
Is awesome that you no longer feel the need to wear your postpartum corset. I haven’t been pregnant, so I’m not talking specifically about that. What I want to say is that is awesome that you know your body enough to feel confident when so many women would be ashamed to show some skin.
You look wonderful and I admire how you encourage women to feel comfortable with their bodies, no matter what. Because I feel that you don’t post just about fashion but about confidence.
I love that.
Nohelia F
Thank you Nohelia! I feel so much free-er without my post partum corset haha but it definitely helped to shape my stomach in the early stages. I’m starting to work out now but I realized that my body is what gave me my little girl so I am not ashamed of it! Thanks for reading! xoxo
Hi Chriselle !!
You look fantastic in a girlie or more casual city vibe outfit !! 😉
And I Absolutely LOVE the art mural !!!! A real gem !!!

Love the murals! And that top is so unique. I know what you mean about moving away from an urban area. I’ve chosen to live in suburbia for awhile since it’s easier for the time being for my guy’s job. We’ll make our way into the city later on but I also think – wait! why aren’t we living downtown somewhere! haha

I know right ! I moved with Allen to the suburbs & I’m just getting used to the area!
