The best beauty tips are often the natural ones. If you remember this YouTube video, you know I’m obsessed with using different teas for different beauty tricks. While drinking tea has tons of beauty and health benefits as is – the tea itself can also be used for some clever beauty hacks! With that being said, I’m so excited to share with you all how I use tea for beauty!
Chamomile tea is great for calming an upset stomach or helping you catch some zzz’s but I find it great for those awful period cramps as well. One benefit of chamomile you may not know about is using it to brighten your hair! Steep 4-5 tea bags in hot water for about 20 minutes then rinse your hair with it every few days to brighten up your hair! This trick works best for those that have highlights or lighter colored hair.

Just like chamomile, lavender tea is great for soothing anxiety, alleviating stress and helping any sleep issues you may have! Even the simple scent of lavender can instantly calm you. A travel tip I use all the time, is to keep some lavender tea bags in my suitcases to keep my clothes smelling fresh. You can even keep some in your drawers at home! One whiff of lavender and I’m instantly more relaxed.

Not only does it taste refreshing but peppermint tea has so many health benefits. It helps improve digestion, increases relaxation, reduces inflammation and boosts your overall immune system. Peppermint tea is kind of a cure-all (it’s like the coconut oil of tea)! The next time you drink peppermint tea, make sure you save the tea bag and use it to get rid of your puffy under eye circles! Just place the (cooled down) tea bags over your eyes for about ten minutes to see reduced swelling in no time!

These are all such clever tricks! I find that chamomile tea helps to brighten your hair even if it isn’t coloured (like mine!) It just adds a bit more shine especially if you rinse your hair with cold water!
I can’t wait to try the peppermint tea on my under eye bags though – I bet i’ll need them this weekend!
