Your bathroom is your sanctuary.
It might be the most important room in your house and quite frankly, unless you live alone, it’s the only time you’re actually by yourself. Since you spend quite some time in there, why not make it look good?
There are SO many bathroom products, accessories and decorations out there, so we gathered 6 tips and tricks to make your bathroom look expensive – like you’re staying at a 5-star hotel. From something as simple as a gold tray to fresh flowers, your powder room is about to look 💯!
With that said, you don’t have to spend a fortune to make your bathroom look $$! There are so many little things you can do that pack a big punch that make you and your guests feel relaxed. Keep scrolling to check out our top tips to make your bathroom look expensive!
1. Fresh Flowers
Fresh flowers are a great way to give any room some color and add some life! They instantly add personality and give a homey feel. If flowers aren’t your jam, some eucalyptus or even a few succulents can bring your bathroom to the next level!
2. Luxe Touches
Luxe touches are an easy way to make your bathroom look expensive. A nice hand soap or hand lotion or maybe a fluffy towel or bath mat can make all the difference. Maybe a nice cozy robe, too? Jane started using a hand scrub once a week and it feels like a mini exfoliator for your hands leaving them so soft. Crazy to see how much dead skin can be washed away from your hands, too.
3. Metallic Accents
It’s all in the details and metallic is a very good detail. If you can, update the hardware, like the knobs on the cabinets and drawers… maybe some gold or brass hooks for your towels? If you’ve got a shower curtain, drop a few extra dollars on some sleek shower curtain hooks! Try using a pretty gold tray like this one to keep your products organized!
4. Room Spray
Let’s be real for a second… bathrooms aren’t usually the best smelling room in our households. Shit happens… 😂 Enter: a room spray, diffusers, post-poo drops , and/or candles. Walking into a bathroom that smells like Byredo Bibliotheque is a wonderful experience we can 100% confirm.
5. Art
Art adds personality to any room, so why should your bathroom be any different? If you have wall space, a fun poster with a cool frame can look WAY more expensive than it is. If your bathroom lacks storage, hang some shelves (Hannah uses these from Target!) and use them to display art as well as your top-shelf favorites! It’s all about making the best use of your space.
6. Utility Can Be Chic
If you can’t have a walk-in closet JUST for your beauty products (can you imagine?) it’s actually really easy to find chic and beautiful storage solutions. An emptied out Diptyque candle as cotton swab storage or a shower caddy (thanks for the recommendation, Jane!) that stores everything. Even baskets like this one or this one are great for extra towels or even toilet paper!
So go forth and be fancy! Do you have any tips to make your bathroom look expensive? Drop a comment down below and let us know!

These sound like great tips! It never really occurred to me to decorate the bathroom, but you’re right that it’s a good idea since I do spend a lot of time there.

These are good tips, but I think what the most luxurious thing a bathroom (or any room) can have is space. Unfortunately, I am stuck with a tiny bathroom, but I’m doing the best I can with it 🙂

I love these tips! My bathroom has a lot of gold touches and I always think this makes a big difference. We also love to keep a candle going so that anyone who enters gets a fresh smell (it’s also great when you don’t have room spray!)
