Happy first day of the 3rd annual 12 Days of Chriselle!
We’re so happy to be bringing this series back for you again this year. There are some amazing sponsors and even more amazing giveaways coming to you over the next 12 Days (so make sure you don’t miss a single day).
This year, we decided to shake things up and do things a little differently… instead of ONE massive giveaway at the end of the 12 days of CHRISelle, we’ve created 12 extremely meaningful stories with some surprise giveaways along the way! That means MORE winners and more chances to win something truly special! You’ll just have to make sure you check back every day to see what’s happening!
So be sure to check back each day of the 12 Days of Chriselle (Dec 1st -12th) for a chance to win!
The holidays have become more and more meaningful as Chloe has gotten older. She really understands what the holidays are about and, to my surprise, she even remembers what we did for the holidays last year which means the world to me because I’ve been trying my hardest to put an emphasis on traditions since Chloe was born. So to know that she remembers some of the fun things we did last year and has been asking to do them again makes me so incredibly happy!
Last year, we had a full on mommy and me day. We painted our nails, baked cookies for Santa, and decorated the tree together! When she came home to see the Christmas tree a week or so ago, she got SO excited that Christmastime was here. One of Chloe’s favorite things to do with me is to get ready and paint her nails. I rarely let her do it, so when I do, she knows it’s something special.
So, of course, I wanted to keep up those traditions with Chloe so that one day Colette can join us!
For the first day of the 12 Days of Chriselle, we teamed up with a favorite of mine, Essie! Their new Gel Couture set is actually a lifesaver. I don’t always have time to get my nails done, and I’m the kind of person who will leave the salon and instantly get a chip or two (surprise, surprise) so this Gel Couture means I can skip the salon, save time and money, and get the same great results like a gel manicure at home! Chloe is a little too young to do gels, so I liked that this polish uses a gel top-coat as opposed to a light to set it!
Not to mention these shades are to die for. I went a little outside of my comfort zone and went for a beautiful caramel brown color called ‘of corset’. It’s like a little darker version of a nude polish, actually matches and goes with everything I wear, and I’m totally into it!
Chloe went for two different colors: pink and sparkles!! She chose the shades ‘bodice goddess‘ and ‘lace is more.’ She was so giddy when I was painting her nails and like I said, I don’t paint Chloe’s nails often, but when I do I’m always afraid she won’t sit still enough for them to dry and end up getting the polish all over herself or the house! Luckily, the top coat was surprisingly quick drying so I didn’t have to worry about a thing, and there’s no base coat needed so she didn’t have to sit too long!
After we finish our first holiday tradition of painting our nails (and make sure they’re totally dry) we make cookies! She gets so excited about baking cookies together for Santa because she thinks more cookies = more presents! She also ends up eating a lot of them herself so we end up having to make a couple of batches…
Other family traditions we started to do together were to write a letter to Santa, read a Christmas book (her favorite right now is The Night Before Christmas) and of course, decorate the tree! I let Chloe pick out all her own ornaments this year to decorate- and let me tell you – this little girl loves her sparkles!
I can’t wait for Colette to be old enough to join in our mommy and me holiday traditions! Perhaps we’ll have some new ones with her once she’s old enough!
Thanks to our partnership with Essie, we were able to make a generous donation to Baby2Baby!
To give yourself (or someone else) the gift of an at-home gel manicure, Essie is giving away two of the GelCouture sets to two lucky readers!
🎄 To enter the 12 Days of Chriselle all you have to do is: 🎄

My favorite holiday tradition is to have a gathering with friends who are all scattered in different states. We try to make an effort to be in company annually since it’s hard for everyone to get together. We like to mix it up by attending an event, a potluck with games, or go on a quick travel somewhere not too far.

My favorite holiday tradition is having two christmas dinners with my family! We always do one traditional Christmas dinner with a Christmas Ham, veggies, homemade bread, and other items you’d find at a typical “American” Christmas dinner. But for Christmas Eve or the day after Christmas, my family does a typical chinese/taiwanese style hot pot! Complete with a spicy hot pot and a regular hot put with steaming bowls of white rice. I love that I am an Asian-american and can celebrate both sides of my culture on a holiday that I love. My IG is @stephschn

My favorite holiday tradition it’s decorate the Christmas tree with my mom and sister! Always love family time 💛 @dlovebb
IG handle: @dellaziaclarissa | One of the reasons why I want to experience Christmas in Europe or US is because the Christmas hype is not as big there as it is in my country. My family is a Christian and so our idea of Christmas is just to go to church for the Christmas service. After that we’d have dinner somewhere and that’s basically the extent of it. But for me, when December comes, I’d light the fairy lights in my room, blast Christmas music and make sure my room is extra cold while I stay under the blanket, maybe have some hot drinks, and read some novels (hopefully Christmas-themed ones) or watch Christmas movies!
My favorite tradition is listening to Christmas music while we decorate the tree and eat freshly baked cookies together. This year we added our baby daughter to the mix, so it was even more special!

I cannot wait till I can start my own Christmas traditions with my family. Growing up Christmastime was my favorite time of year as all of my family gets together and makes Christmas cookies. They’re so simple to make but we spend hours at the table decorating and chatting and laughing. Unfortunately this year my grandparents have fallen ill and for the first time we are unable to make cookies with them, but it has made me ever so grateful for the years past that we’ve had such wonderful time together. Thank you so much for sharing your Christmas tradition with us, Chriselle! Lots of love, @katieraechel
I love this time of the year and your Christmas posts, Chriselle! Chloe is becoming such a charming and beautiful little lady – more like you, every year!

My mom and I spend every New Year’s Day in Mailbu and always end the day at Geoffrey’s during sunset. We’ve been doing this for 9 years now. This post is so beautiful. I love seeing what you and Chloe do together. I like the change up from previous years. My favorite holiday tradition is putting up the Christmas tree. After I moved out, I got a table Christmas tree and decorate it with my boyfriend in our small apartment. Also, I love wrapping presents while listening to Christmas songs. I’m so excited for this year. #12DaysGiveaway

Love the post! It’s great to teach our kids these traditions as they can pass it on to their own someday. Christmas is the same at my house with my boys. We try to have the tree out right after thanksgiving and ready to decorate! ❤️ We try to make at least one new ornament each year for each whether it’s a simple stick tree where we decorate and bake cookies to hang on the tree.
I love listening to Christmas carols while baking cookies☺️🍪🎄

I am looking forward to all his traditions especially playing Golf with him and his family on Christmas morning. 😊 @unwound_fashion

Every year, no matter how unfestive or tough times were during the holiday season… me or my mom would always make sure that our stockings were hung (and later on discretely filled with treats) so that we could always surprise one another on Christmas morning.

Every year my boyfriend and I attend the annual Wreaths Across America in Arlington, VA. His grandfather was buried there and what a sight is it to see families and friends coming together to show their support to the men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice for what we have today. Some of the men and women may no longer have families, but I can say I have said various names so they are remembered.

Love it! My holidays tradition is decorating the house right away after thanksgiving and bake a lot! I love to bake but try to not do it so often, so on December I let myself bake as much as I like and it gives me the feeling of Christmas.
Every Christmas my dad brings out this old, foldable card table and we do as many puzzles as possible before the end of Christmas vacation! Our favorites are from the Hometown Collection company (think painting-like images of old 1940s hotels and Christmas scenes).
My favorite holiday tradition is the making of our french christmas eve dinner !

Going to grandma’s house and seeing the whole family for Christmas lunch followed by presents in the living room. Grandma always made sure everyone attending had a gift to open, which for her meant buying some extra gifts and leaving them under the tree without tags so she could hand them out and claim that “the tag fell off” whenever she’d notice that someone there didn’t have anything to open. 🙂 @s0hryu
I love baking cookies with my family! @mollyandstacie
My family doesn’t have traditions but I would usually go to a Christmas Eve service at my old church and have memories of singing carols.

Awh! That was such a good blog to read! We started last year when my daughter was old enough, she got to pick out an ornament for the tree and this year she did again. Princess ornaments as always. Since I also had my second daughter we can’t wait till next year for her to be able to join in and pick one for the tree too.

P.S. I’ve always wanted to say I love your name and I wanted my daughters first letter name to match her last name and your name was so perfect. Hehe so we named our first daughter Chriselle.♡

Our Christmas tradition is with my mum and whenever we’re in the same country, with my grandmother too (my mum was born and raised in Hungary but moved to France when she met my dad) and it’s to decorate the Christmas tree and bake together. My favourite Christmas tradition is spending the majority of Christmas Eve watching Christmas movies with my sister ❤️ Then playing 윶놀이 with everyone who joins for Christmas dinner (even though it’s traditionally a game played on New Year’s Day)! Because my grandma only speaks Korean yet my husband and close friends that typically join for Christmas don’t speak Korean, it’s nice to have everyone spend time together in a way that transcends language.
Wonderful post! My family attends church on Christmas Eve and then spends Christmas having game night after dinner! I love to make more traditions as we get older.
Beautiful post, I can’t wait for Colette to join in on the celebrations! I love watching cheesy Christmas movies come the holidays every year 🎄🍿🌟
Every December my family and I do reruns of all of our favorite Christmas movies every night, complete with Hot Cocoa and baked goodies. The night on Christmas Eve we would go out to see all of the decorations of lights from the houses, come home to the usual Hot Cocoa/movie and open up 1 gift of our choice. I loved it so much. Even if we would visit family out of the state/country we would still do some of the tradition there and include the rest of our family members. I’ve always looked forward to ending the day with a full tummy, relaxing with the family, and being excited to do it again for the next night. ♥️
My family doesn’t celebrate Christmas but this will be the first year that I’ll be celebrating it with my boyfriends family! Ever since November rolled around, all he talks about is how the family gets together, the baking/cooking, festivities & traditions that draws everyone close.
I’ll finally be decorating my first tree !!!
Gingerbread cookies are a must 😍, and now I’m loving the idea of macaroons during the Christmas season. While eating these amazing delights, I love watching rom-com movies with Christmas themes, it makes me feel as if I’m one with the holiday.

Our family is split across the globe, so our tradition is to write personal Christmas and New Years cards to each other. If we are fortunate enough to spend the holidays together, we will exchange these in person over a nice meal. We cherish these much more than gifts, and it’s always fun to look back at past cards and reminisce. So grateful my parents started this tradition for our family since my sister and I were babies!
My favorite holiday tradition is decorating the Christmas tree with my hubby ❤️🎄
Loving baking during the holidays and decorating the tree and our house. By the way, A Night Before Christmas was one of my favorite stories as a kid, too!! 😭❤️
Love the dress- you look gorgeous. Our favourite holiday tradition is baking cinnabon rolls- fulfilling thag sweet tooth and winter cravings for cinnamon in one go!
my kid is only 10 months old; however, my husband and I are starting to think of traditions that we as a family will do. We were never into traditions before; however, now that we have a kid, we believe that it is important. It keeps the kid excited and gives them something to look forward to. We are going to have a photo with santa and a visit to see the christmas lights tradition during christmas season ❤️
