Scents of Summer

This summer, everyone on the team said that their summer scent goals are to:

1. smell like seduction
2. smell like “the one that got away”

Since smells are known to evoke particular memories and all the fun of summer will fade before we know it, here’s a roundup of our top scents for the summer. We’ve also included why we love them and a few tips on how to ensure that your favorite scent is going to withstand any given heat wave.

Glossier You

This skin enhancer smells sophisticated, somewhat sweet and is light enough to wear in the day and delicious enough to wear at night. It aims to “smell like you, but better” and Jane from the team has been wondering how she’s lived her life for so long without it.

5 Tips on How to Make Your Perfume Last

Moisturize Your Skin
Perfume doesn’t last long on dry skin. If you happen to have dry skin, make sure to moisturize your body before you add perfume. If your fragrance comes in the form of a lotion, adding that with your perfume will ensure that your scent lasts all day and gives it more staying power.

Apply to Pulse Points
Your body heat is what activates your scent. Spray your perfume on your pulse points because that’s where the skin is the thinnest.  You can spritz it behind your ear, base of your throat, the inside of your wrists, your stomach, the inside of your elbow or even behind your knee! Pro Tip: Spritz some perfume into damp hair after you shower to keep your locks smelling good all day long.

Don’t Rub It In
After you apply your fragrance, don’t rub it! Rubbing it causes the top notes to go away faster.

Keep it away from direct sunlight
Heat and light can break down your perfume causing it to be less fragrant.

Reapply When Needed
Get a travel size version or pick up an empty travel size perfume spray at Sephora or Nordstrom! That way, you can re-apply your scent whenever you may need it.
