I’ve had really bad hormonal acne with this pregnancy.
For the longest time, I had a hunch that baby #2 was going to be a boy because this pregnancy has had so many more side-effects than when I was pregnant with Chloe. After dealing with it for a couple of months, I’ve finally been able to get it under control! Keep scrolling to discover the products that are keeping my skin under control!
Of course, if you are pregnant, there are certain products that you should avoid such as retinol and certain acne fighting products like Benzoyl Peroxide.
If you’re pregnant like I am and are having some of the same hormone-related issues, the best tip I can give is to try to stick to as many natural products as you can. If you feel like you need to use more heavy-duty products, only apply them to the affected areas, kind of like a spot treatment!
I’ve done a lot of research about these products so I feel really confident using them throughout my pregnancy and beyond. I also encourage you to do your own research and find out what products work best for you and your body!
CLEANSERS
Superfood Cleanser
This cleanser is from a new brand I discovered not too long ago called Youth to the People. It’s a vegan brand which I love and this cleanser is made with tons of superfoods like kale and spinach! My skin naturally gets pretty congested, so a good cleanser is very important to me. This one gets the job done and smells delicious!
Daily Foaming Cleanser
This foaming cleanser from Kate Somerville is used on the days when my skin is feeling extra congested or if I see some breakouts forming. It’s made with sulfur so it seriously clears out your pores and refreshes your face. Plus, it’s pink!
OILS
Radiant Eye Oil
This roll-on eye oil from Kora Organics is fantastic! As you guys might know, I have the tendency to get pretty dark under eye circles so I’m extra conscious of making sure to take care of my eyes! This oil is very soothing, organic, and the coolest part is that the roller ball applicator is actually a rose quartz which is known to soothe and heal.
Luxe Face Oil
This oil is super luxe, nourishing and natural so I like to slather it all over my face! It’s made with a ton of amazing ingredients like avocado oil which is fantastic for fighting acne-causing bacteria and buriti oil which moisturizes and heals dry skin!
Ultra-Clarifying Acne Treatment Oil
So I use this acne treatment as a spot treatment oil only. Pre-pregnancy, I would normally put this all over my face but since it has a lot of active chemicals, I use it very sparingly. I’ll just gently pat it directly over my blemishes and use it only when needed!
MOISTURIZER
Cell Renewal Night Cream
So when it comes to moisturizers, I want to be careful to not further congest my skin and cause any more irritation! So when I found this night cream/moisturizer from Caudalie, I was so excited. I wanted something mild yet hydrating, rich but not heavy and this checked all the boxes!
TONER
Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner
This toner smells SO amazing- just like a rose garden. This is one of the products in my routine that I make sure to put all over my face and continue to buy once it runs out. I use a cotton pad like this one and after gently applying the toner, I peel apart the layers of the cotton pad to make an impromptu sheet mask!

Hi! Thanks for posting! I’m dealing with terrible second trimester acne with my third pregnancy that I’ve never experienced before! I’m curious if you are still currently using your at home gadgets. I have a light therapy (skin inc) and micro current (nuface) device that I really miss using. My doctor thinks they should be ok to use, especially since they are at home devices, but everything I’ve read from research online is saying no. I also just hastily purchased a high frequency device to try to treat my acne but did research afterwards also finding suggestions not to use the device while pregnant 🤦. Feeling frustrated.
Thanks for all the great suggestions. I prefer more natural products as well.

That rose toner is my favorite, even though I’m not pregnant! It’s super amazing! Definitely looked into some of these great product recommendations because if it’s gentle for an expecting mother, it’s definitely gentle enough for my sensitive skin too! <3 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing these amazing picks!
absolutely! thanks so much Elizabeth! xo
Great post! I understand the frustration of hormonal acne! Having PCOS, my face is resembles that of a teenager, but I can definitely say natural works best.

Thank you so much for this kind of post. It is really helpful especially for those women who are expecting right now. It is very important to use natural beauty products as much as you can, at least during this period.
