5 Steps to Sexy Beach Hair

Why is it that achieving that “effortless” look is actually the least effortless thing ever? With summer on the horizon, all that the CINCteam girls and I can think about right now is spending our days at the beach. But until those long summer days arrive, we’ve perfected our beach hair with the perfect summer waves. All the girls in the office have different hair textures, lengths, and colors so we brainstormed and decided on the ultimate beach waves tutorial. So here are 5 (easy) steps to sexy beach waves:

1. Start With Wet Hair

Wash your hair as you normally would: shampoo, conditioner the usual. When you get out of the shower, use a microfiber towel (like this one here) to soak up excess water from your hair until it’s damp. It’s the ultimate way to fight frizz and keep your hair strong and healthy.

2. Add Some Mousse

Using your fingers, work a mousse  (like this one or this one) through your damp tresses. This creates volume and gets your hair ready for some sexy tousled waves. Finding products that are meant to be used before heat styling tools that also help you get the texture you want, like this one, is a total win! PS: Whether or not youre going for beach waves this summer, start incorporating products that have UV protection into your hair routine stat to protect it from sun damage!

3. Air Dry or Dry with a Hair Dryer

Depending on how much time I have, I either air-dry or, using a low heat, blow dry my hair. Since my hair has a subtle natural wave to it, sometimes I braid small sections of my hair to really help bring out those beach waves. What I do is section off my hair and tie it in loose braids. If your hair texture is naturally curly or wavy, you can totally skip this step! After I’m done blow drying, I’ll undo my braids and have perfectly sexy beach waves!

4. Go in with a Curling Iron

After my hair is dry, I’ll go in with a small curling iron (like this one here) to add some extra waves. Use your fingers to separate them afterward to make your hair looks looser.

5. Finish with Texture Spray

After you’re done, finish off your look with some beach spray like this or a texture spray like this one. Your waves will look good everyone will think you spent all day at the beach! 😉

So as much as I wish I could just wake up with flawlessly tousled beach waves every morning, sometimes looking effortless takes a little bit of effort. Since I’m always on the hunt for new products, do you guys have any beach wave products that you love? Let me know below and have a great day!
