If you’ve ever read any of my skincare posts or watched one of my skincare videos, you know that I absolutely love using oils. They’re my favorite way to start my morning skincare routine and my favorite way to finish off my nighttime routine and I am not afraid to use them! What I love about oils, is that they lock everything in and gives me the maximum amount of moisture possible. I’ve been a big fan of Biossance for years now (you might even remember me talking about them in this post here) and when I was approached by Biossance about a year ago, I can honestly say I’ve been using their products ever since. The packaging has always been so pretty and the product inside is even better. It’s no wonder I empty these guys so quickly!
There are SO many oils on the market right now, but I’m often left wondering: “which one is actually the best?” We’ve all heard of the usual suspects: argan oil, jojoba oil, and coconut oil but have you guys heard of squalane oil? It’s actually been used in the Korean Beauty market for quite some time now thanks to Biossance, it’s emerging on the US market and I couldn’t be more excited!

Here’s the breakdown: the human body actually produces its own kind of squalane, but the amount that we have and can retain over time decreases as we get older. If you’ve ever seen squalane used in luxury beauty products before, it was actually harvested from shark livers (eek)! Thankfully, scientists spent ages researching a way to create squalane safely and effectively without sharks and lo and behold: Biossance created a 100% plant-based squalane, which is totally sustainable and made out of sugarcane!
Translation: this stuff is really, really good. It’s weightless, doesn’t clog your pores, doesn’t feel greasy, and won’t leave a mess on your clothes! Basically, squalane is the moisture you were born with and Biossance has made it easier for you to have more of that goodness using plants.
So, have I convinced you to give it a try? If you want to give 100% Squalane Oil a try, click HERE to get 2 deluxe samples for FREE! (All you have to do is pay $4.00 for shipping and handling- no subscription or hidden fees!)

Oils have definitely been making it big in the skincare game these past few years! I really love using oils in the winter, particularly when my skin is super dry and parched because of the weather! Thank you so much for this great recommendation! Can’t wait to get a bottle of this for my mom! I’m sure she’ll love it <3 🙂

LOVE Biossance! I use it every night and I wake up with soft skin. I only started using it because you’ve raved about it for so long. I also use Caudalie products because of you. Keep the skincare recommendations coming!
Thanks Chriselle! I just ordered the deluxe samples. How do you incorporate them into your beauty routine? I recently started using the oil wash you posted about in another post, and I love it.
Best,

Hi Chriselle,
Love the post! I got my free sample just yesterday when I read about the brand’s new bottles.
I was intersted in learning more about SPF products that you use for your face. I am currently on the hunt for a new one since the one from La Mer I have been using have been a little oily on my combination skin. Can you please do a post on your fav. SPF products :). Thanks !
Squalane can be harvested from olives as well.
