Music is a huge part of my family, so I’m so excited to have partnered up with Spotify for today’s post! If you follow me on Snapchat and Instagram, then you know Chloe is happiest when she’s dancing (#DancingCloClo)! We exposed her to music from the day she was in my belly, and she literally kicked and danced her way out! Music has played (pun intended) such a significant role in Chloe’s life early on and it’s very apparent now. There are many benefits that music brings to children’s development, and here are a few reasons why we don’t go a day without music:
1. Literacy
Music stimulates them intellectually, emotionally, socially, and helps them with their literacy. I am convinced that Chloe learned how to speak early on because of all the sing along songs we repeatedly played for her. Her favorite songs taught her how to say some of her favorite animal words and noises. It’s the cutest thing ever. Her current favorite word? Doggy and Giraffe. She pronounces is “Gee-Waff”… It’s the cutest thing ever.
2. Dancing & Creativity
As mentioned before not a day goes by without Chloe getting her groove on (watch #DancingCloClo on Snapchat). Dancing is a way of self-expression and it also promotes creative motor skills. It’s a great social activity and it ALWAYS puts her in a good mood.
3. Bonding
Besides the obvious physical and mental benefits, music is a great family bonding experience. Some of our best memories were made when blasting her favorite jams and all dancing together as a family. Or even those quiet lullaby moments as I read her a book and put her down for bed.
Music is key to those special family moments that Allen and I will always remember. So using Spotify’s new Kids & Family section is the perfect beginning to those memories. They have songs that Chloe loves plus the activities within the playlists are so much fun! This is one of my latest obsessions as a mom. Not a day goes by without us playing her playlist. Spotify created the Kids & Family section to encourage parents to dance, talk and especially sing to their little ones. So today I’ll be sharing with you Chloe’s favorite playlist below!
