4 Ponytail Alternative Hair Styles

No matter how long your hair is, sometimes you just want it off your face. And sure, you can find a random ponytail holder in the bottom of your bag & throw your hair up- but where’s the fun in that? Thanks to Jen Atkin x Chloe + Isabel I was introduced to the wonderful world of hair accessories. With combs and clips and everything in between, I decided to experiment and bring you my 4 ponytail alternative hair styles!

1. Not Your Average

Let’s say you’re late for a meeting. Your coffee order was wrong, AND it starts to rain. You’re stressed enough as it is, the last thing you need to worry about is your hair getting frizzy. What’s the easiest way to tie it up while still looking polished? A ponytail clip! It gives your hair the same silhouette as your average ponytail, but in a more grown up polished way.

2. Pin Up

If you remember from this post- I love rocking a ninja bun on vacation, and I wish I had this bun cuff! Though it might look daunting to use, it’s really easy. Just cuff your bun, then stick the pin (which looks like a giant bobby pin) through the cuff’s opening, through your hair and then out the other side!

3. Comb On Over

This hair comb is one of my biggest obsessions. It’s over-sided and rose gold, so what’s not to love? You can really use this anywhere, but I love using it to give myself a side-swept hairstyle. Hair combs are like the grown-up barrette! Just like the cuff & pin, this hair comb might look daunting to use but it’s also very simple to use. Just take the comb and brush down, then push the comb into your hair until it’s secure and you’re good to go!

4. Clip it Up

Clips are a great way to add a little edge to what would be a classic hairstyle. I took two strands of hair on either side of my part and instead of pinning them back with bobby pins, I used two of these circle clips to keep my hair in place. Clips like these are always great to have on hand.

And there you have it! My 4 ponytail alternative hair styles. Which one was your favorite? I did a little research and found some great combs clips and cuffs for under $25. Check them out below & happy shopping!
