After spending 48 hours in New York then another 48 hours in Texas … it’s good to be home! I flew in from Texas so I could celebrate my birthday yesterday with my family. It was nice because I was able to completely check out and did absolutely nothing but smother Chloe with kisses, hang out with the hubs, and eat a lot of delicious food! I’m heading off somewhere tropical in a few days to officially celebrate my birthday and I can’t wait to reveal to you where I’ll be going with Chloe and Allen.

I’m also SO excited to finally release these images. We shot them a while back but we were waiting for the right moment to share them with you. As it is Coachella week I thought it would be appropriate to share with you guys some festival inspired outfits. A lot of people assume that during the festival season you have to go and purchase an entirely new wardrobe, but that is completely false. You can always re-work some of your existing pieces and style them a bit differently. Though I’ll bring out the fringe, crop tops, and distressed shorts once in a while… I also like to stick to my feminine pieces and edge them up a bit with the right accessories.

This Mr. Self Portrait Dress that I’m wearing here is a perfect example of being able to transition your pretty lace dresses into a cool festival look. This is one of the recent dresses I ordered from FWRD, and I absolutely love how versatile it is. The pastel color is just perfect for any spring occasion. I initially ordered this dress to wear to a wedding but I’ve got so much use out of it elsewhere. You can dress it up with a pair of heels for date night or a wedding, pair it with white sneakers for an everyday look, or in this case a pair of suede booties to make it the perfect chic boho ensemble for the festival season! From the chiffon off the shoulder sleeves, the thin straps, the sheerness on the bottom of the dress, and of course the insane movement of it all … what’s not to love? It’s the most feminine and flattering dress that I’ve purchased In a long time.

A pair of suede booties is a must for festival season … well, I mean all year around. I purchased these booties from Zara (similar here!) years ago and they have been my go-to year after year. I truly believe that booties are a seasonless staple, as I wear them in the spring and summer as much as I do in the fall/winter. I tend to rely on my booties a lot to make my girly outfits more cool and edgy. The boots that I’m wearing are super old, but I took some time research a few that were just as chic, versatile, and affordable (all under $200) … you can find them in the widget below. I’m making more of an effort to find pieces that I truly love and that are more affordable for you guys to be able to shop from!

Happy Monday!
