In the City of Lights and Lost Luggage

[parallax][/parallax]

If you guys remember from my snapchat (@chrisellelim) and my most recent video (see it here!) Delta lost my luggage on my flight to Paris for fashion week. And not just my luggage, my entire team’s luggage as well! That was about seven pieces of luggage. And not just for 24 hours, but for 5 entire days- which was almost our entire trip to Paris! I have to admit though we were quite upset in the beginning my team and I made the most out of it. We made it into a challenge about how long we could survive without our suitcases. Although the struggle was definitely real, we are so thankful to have our luggage back.

This was shot during our first day in Paris and I loved being able to wear this beautiful dress by Proenza Schouler. On a typical trip, losing my luggage wouldn’t be that big a deal because I would be able to go to a local boutique or even Zara or H&M to pick up some easy outfits. However because it’s Fashion Week, my stay is heavily dependent on my outfits. It was really important for me to be able to find amazing pieces to be able to create unique & interesting looks even though I didn’t have my luggage. Luckily, I have amazing friends here in Paris (thank you KCD and Karla Otto!) that allowed me to borrow some amazing pieces like this Proenza Schouler dress.

I wore this outfit to the Maison Margiela show and I decided to add a pair of La Perla fishnets underneath. Now, I’m not usually one to love fishnets, mostly because they remind me too much of the 80’s or Halloween but having them peek out under a dress or jeans can add a cool edgy feel to a more classic look. This Proenza dress was very feminine so I wanted to edge it up and these tights did just that! Can we talk about these pointy white heels? I’ve been obsessed with white shoes recently. Whether it be white booties, flats, or heels, I highly recommend you invest in some for the spring, because trust me you will see them everywhere. Be sure to check out the links to some of my favorite white heels below!

My team and I are so happy to be back in Paris (lost luggage and all!) and we’re having an awesome week so far! Have a great day & Au Revoir!
