I can easily say that motherhood has been the hardest challenge i’ve faced, yet the most rewarding one. I shot these images a while back when I first brought Chloe home, and wanted to share them with you before it was too late. It’s funny looking back at these pictures, that were only taken a few weeks ago, because Chloe is SOOOOOO much bigger now. She weighs around 13 lbs and has grown SO tall! I want to document every moment with her because she seems to be growing at such a rapid rate, and before I know it she’ll be all grown up!
The first month was the most difficult, and I wasn’t sure how I was going to survive. We’ve finally figured out a system, and also a schedule that works for Chloe, and it’s been a game changer. She has been sleeping 4-5 hours straight thru out the night, and I couldn’t be any happier (the first night this happened I literally had tears of joy!). I talk about my first month with Chloe in my latest video below, and hope you enjoy all the untold stories that I share….

Congratulations on taking on the most important job of your life! I had my first baby just 9 months ago so I can relate to a lot. I live in Canada so we are fortunate enough to receive one full year if paid maternity leave. I am enjoying every day I get to be at home with Nolan.
If I could share anything with you, I’d say to thimgs slow down and spend as much time as possible with Chloe. Time is precious and it will pass by in the blink of an eye. I know at times you may feel like you have to delve right back into work especially because the fashion industry moves so fast, but it will always be there. You won’t be missing out on anything by not attending an event or fashion week, or anything else for that matter.
Part of motherhood I have treasured is getting to know my baby boy more and more. Figuring each other out, observing my baby’s body language, getting to know his moods, his personality and knowing how to respond to his needs. That all comes from just being present at those moments in time.
I am a control freak and a perfectionist but I learned I have to relax and also designate note things to my husband, family, and friends. I acceped help. I learned to say no. You can still do it all in life, but life is much more enjoyable if you do it with the help of those you love and love you.
I share your pain of loss from miscarriage. I suffered two. My husband and I also struggled with unexplained infertility for 8 years. During those painful years, I was also diagnosed with breast cancer at 36. There were times I thought God had forgotten about me but of course that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Just continue to be grateful as you always seem to do.
God bless you, your husband of of course precious little Chloe!
Sincerely,
Diana Shin

Those first days are still crystal clear in my mind. The days when I was lost in taking care of my newborn babies. I didn’t even know if it’s day or night. Everything was so overwhelming. My kids are 14, 11, and 6 now and I still wish to go back to those days and enjoy every second of it even more. I miss those days. Thank you for sharing Chriselle! I love how graceful and transparent you are. Keep inspiring!
I’ve recently started following your blog and instagram page that I found through Song of Styles instagram page. As a recent new ftm as well, I want to thank you for being so candid in your video. Everything you said, couldn’t have been described better. I went through a similar experience and actually feel like I’m still treading water as a new mom. I expeienced anxiety during the first few months and felt extremely vulnerable and raw. Thank you for sharing part of your journey with your readers and for keeping it real 😉
She is cute:-)
I remember when I had my son 7 years ago. It’s really the hardest job in the world.. And the most awesome job. Enjoy every moment. lol

It’s so nice to hear how candid and honest you are about your journey. I haven’t had a child yet but my special someone and I have been talking about it a lot. I feel like a lot of people talk about all the wonderful things a baby brings and then just gloss over the trials or the everyday emotions you go through when trying to balance a family with the rest of your life. It’s good to hear you’re taking a bit of “me” time out and I think finding a balance is just about your instinct. I think most people can see when they’re spending too much time on one aspect of themselves and neglecting the other. Good luck!
