My 7 Minute Makeup Routine

I feel like I am always busy. Don’t you? Some days are a lot busier than others but I honestly can’t think of a time of the day when I don’t have a million things to do!  I’m sure you guys can all relate! With that said, I’ve gotten a lot of my “getting ready” routine down to a science- and that includes my makeup routine! Makeup and skincare is kind of like my ‘me-time’ so, in a perfect world, I would take hours on end pampering myself. But in reality, I’m lucky to scrape together a few minutes to get ready. My 7-minute makeup routine is perfect for those busy mornings, and it works as the perfect base if I want to do a little more to take my look from day to night!

Concealer | Laura Mercier

Step one is concealer. I have pretty bad dark circles under my eyes, so a little concealer goes a long way. I also use the concealer to help with any discoloration or redness, especially around my nose! I’ve been loving this concealer because it goes on super creamy, melts into my skin and helps brighten up my face.

Cushion Foundation | Laneige

Next step is foundation. I know that some people like to put their concealer on after foundation, but I feel like I get more coverage the other way around! This cushion foundation is light, has SPF and is really buildable. It leaves me with a gorgeous dewy look and instantly makes my skin look brighter and more luminous.

Bronzer | Marc Jacobs

To add a little warmth to my face, I’ll use some bronzer! If I want to add some contour to my face, I’ll also use bronzer, but with an angular brush. A big tip I have for putting on makeup quickly, and on the go- is to have a compact with a good mirror! For me, it’s this guy. A good mirror can make all the difference!

Eyeshadow | Chanel

As I talked about here, I’m loving neutral shades for my eyes. A cool pro-tip that I picked up from the girls in the office, is to use the condensation from your iced coffee to get your brush a little moist to bump up the intensity of the shadow’s pigment! My eyeshadow also depends on how much time I have! I’ll either do a full eye, just a sweep of color, or no eyeshadow at all!

Eyeliner | Mac (Similar Here)

I always feel like eyeliner makes me look more awake. Whether it’s a wing like I did above or even a sweep on my lower water line something I love the definition it gives me! If I’m low on time, I’ll do a quick little cat eye using a liquid liner like this.  It still gives me the definition I want without taking up a lot of time.

Eyebrows | Shu Uemura

If I can only do one thing to my face before I leave the house, it would always be my brows! I’ve been using this brow pencil (similar here) for ages and I don’t know what I’d do without it. This one fills in my brows with more of a crayon consistency which I really like. It looks natural and gives me the color as well as a kind of waxy pomade texture to keep my brows in place all day!

Mascara | Armani Beauty

I always finish my eyes off with some mascara. Gotta love those long lashes! Mascaras come in many shapes and sizes, but for me personally, I like to add volume just as much as length. When I’ve got more time, I sometimes like to layer my mascaras, but in a pinch- a few swipes of this guy and I’m ready to go!

Lipstick | Hourglass

The best lip color is one that works seamlessly with any look. A nude-ish shade of pink, but also kind of a coral is one of my favorites! And how chic is this packaging? I don’t know what it is about lipstick, but I always feel more put together when I have a lip on.

Blush | Nars

A little blush goes a long way, which is why I like to save blush for my last step in my routine. Too much and you can easily look like a clown, but not enough and you can look washed out- which is why I’m loving this liquid blush! It has a great color and is really blendable.  I put a few dots of it on the apples of my cheeks and blended it with a brush like this one!

Setting Spray + SPF | Kate Somerville

The final step is this amazing setting/SPF spray! It goes on matte and unlike a lot of other spray sunscreens, it doesn’t leave my face super greasy. And no matter how cloudy it is, you ALWAYS NEED SUNSCREEN.  Yes, you can still get sunburnt even when you cant see the sun!  UV rays are real. Always. Use. Sunscreen.

There you have it! My 7-minute makeup routine!  At this point, I could probably do it with my eyes closed! Do you guys have any time-saving makeup tips? I’d love to hear them! Let me know in the comments below!
