3 Hairstyles to Help You Embrace Your Frizz

I feel like there should be a support group for frizzy hair. Sometimes, no matter what I do- I just can’t get rid of that frizz! I’m lucky enough to not live in a very humid part of the world, but this year, I’ve decided to really embrace my frizz. Finding ways to work with it, and not work against it, has completely changed my outlook on my hair. So keep scrolling to see 3 hairstyles to help you embrace your frizz!

A go-to for me right now (and a lot of the girls on the CINCteam) is a low pony tail. I usually part my hair in the middle and run my fingers through it with some styling paste (like this) to tame some of the frizz. Then, I tie it back at the nape of my neck with a few strands out to frame my face. It takes me no time at all and looks super chic!

Embracing your frizz is all about making your hair texture work for you. When my hair gets frizzy, it pretty much poofs up into a giant ball. Not cute. So on the occasion where I want to wear my hair down, I use this spray to help tame my locks into a gorgeous voluminous mane. It’s all the body with none of the frizz!

Ah, the top knot. If only it knew how much it means to me! When you’re not feeling the pony or the voluminous mane, a top knot is always the answer. It keeps your hair up and out of your face and looks oh-so-chic. Whenever I do a topknot, I always treat my hair with a little hair oil (I’m loving this one right now) to smooth it out and add some shine. Then up it goes! To add texture, I’ll usually pull out a few strands to frame up my face a little bit. A couple of bobby-pins to secure it and I’m good to go!

It’s all about embracing your special individualized hair you were born with! What are your feelings on hair frizz?  Let me know in the comments below!

I have the opposite problem. The hot and humid weather in Singapore makes my scalp all oily and I’m left with flat, volumeless hair. A post on working with flat hair, please?

  • Madison Lee says:

I’m absolutely in love with Living Proof. It’s done wonders for my hair. But it makes sense because we both have thin, fine hair. I’ll definitely try the other products. Thanks for the rec’s!

Thank you so much for sharing all of these amazing products <3 My hair isn't too naturally frizzy, but the hotter weather does make my hair a little frizzier than usual, so I'm definitely looking forward to trying out some of these in these last few weeks of summer 🙂

When I saw the article, I had to read it. I loved the styles you showcased! As a black woman, I definitely have had my battles with frizzy hair. After years of chemical straightening, I cut my hair and embraced my natural texture. I’m happy I did, my hair has its issues but I love it and have a better idea of what to do with it. – Kara

  • Simi says:

I fortunately don´t have frizzy hair but my hair is fine and heavy at the same time. It can be greasy very easily and then my go to product is dry shampoo and some bun 🙂 Also ponytail.

  • Kiri says:

I like the idea of a frizz and static spray because it is super dry and windy here at the moment and my hair is all over the shop!

Thank you for this post!!! I also inherited frizzy hair from my mom. It is a constant battle. I’ve recently considered getting a keratin smithing treatment.

  • Alina says:

Love the volume look! Shows your free spirit 🙂

  • BJ says:

I loved all the looks on you. It amazes me that so many styles in hair and clothing look so beautiful on you. One thing I never have to worry about though is hair frizz–you have never seen a person with straighter hair than I have. And heat just makes it straighten out more. My problem is finding ways to give my hair volume.

  • Alex says:

Thanks for the tips! Braids are also great for taming the frizz. Plus: they are really femenine and practical for working girls 😉 Even with short hair, you can do wonders with a braid!

  • Enn Franco says:

The low pony is my fav among all of them! Love to wear this hair style too)

  • I love it when my hair is frizzy – my hair is super straight so this is the only time it looks like I have a bit of volume in my hair! 😀

  • M hair is very frizzy in the summer and, to be honest, in winter as well. I have learned to embrace it a whole ago, there is just nothing I can do about it.

Great post, I’ve got frizzy hair and I am a big fan of the top knot!

I think that on you voluminous hair looks amazing, but for me, when I have a frizzy hair nothing looks good so it has to be some sort of hat or headscarf that I’m using.

  • Keri says:
