Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I used to rely on the weekends to get my bit of R&R, but things have changed now. The weekends are incredibly exhausting for us now that we have Chloe in the picture, but cliche in that it’s so rewarding. Although this past Saturday she slept for 7 hours straight!!! I mean…I was in heaven! (Trust me, it’s life changing after you’ve been waking up every 2 hours.) I literally woke up in the middle of the night waiting for her to wake me up, but nope she slept through the entire night! Allen and I had to go to a few birthday and engagement parties this past weekend, which meant that Chloe had to go too. It used to give me so much anxiety bringing her out in public. I mean there are a number of unexpected things that can always occur, and of course the expected pooping and crying. I can now say that Allen and I are totally immune to all of this now, and besides she’s a pretty easy baby in general. Although the weekends are so exhausting, it’s worth every minute as we get to spend every waking moment with her!
These were obviously shot before I chopped off my locks! If you joined my Periscope session last week, you know how I feel about my new hair..I’m slowly getting used to it! But anyway, can we talk about this Kooples Butterfly Print Silk Dress for a second? Besides the fact that I’m deathly scared of butterflies (I know…so embarrassing and sad!! I can’t help it!), I instantly fell in love with the butterfly print & ruffled skirt on this feminine and airy dress. I decided to pair it with a knitted cozy cardigan as it’s the best outfit to watch a sunset in, and also to nurse in while doing so! (I’ve recently become a big fan of low V necklines paired with oversized cardigans because it is the easiest to nurse in. Will be sharing a video on this very soon!) Details are what makes a good piece into a great & memorable piece, and for me the black lace-up detail is definitely the icing on the cake. The laced up trend has been popping up everywhere this Spring and Summer, but most of the looks are a bit too provocative for my taste. So, when I found this dress I felt that it brought together all the elements I love when dressing for the beach: femininity, playfulness, and coziness. Here I paired this dress with my trusty oversized cardigan. The beautiful elements in this dress make it one of the prettiest things I’ve found this spring. What are your favorite spring pieces?
A fellow mommy recently told me a quote that I think we can all apply to our lives, “The days are long but the years are short.” Focus on the big picture and take the small steps to get there every single day. Happy Monday everyone

Great tips! I love espadrillas !
Hi Chriselle. Been reading your blog for years now and am a big fan. I’m also a Kpop fan and noticed that you and W magazine obviously share the same interest in the dress as Kpop star 2ne1’s Dara rocked it in her latest spread. Not sure if that’s helpful at all but it’s a fun fact at least. 🙂 All the best.

I have a phobia of ladybugs soo it seems pretty normal in my eyes 😉 beautiful dress …You’re very brave 😛 I’d never be able to wear something with ladybugs on hahha!
As much as I’m terrified of butterflies, they can be pretty if they’re not moving hah. xo
Wow. Lol. It’s the first time I met somebody who’s also scared of butterflies. 🙂 I guess now I can label that as ‘normal’. I really have to think twice about dresses with butterfly print, though this one IS really nice. Still, how come you bought it?
As much as I’m scared of butterflies I thought this print looks really pretty! They’re not so bad when they’re not flying in your face ..
That dress is so beautiful! I love the tassels <3

I can tell that Chloe is an easy baby by the way she smiles 🙂 My spring essential would be a white shirt, white flowy T and a white blazer which I am still hunting!

Beautiful dress! Congratulations on your first long sleep!!! Love the quote too.
A mommy friend told me when my daughter was born: The only change is change. When things are rough, don’t worry, babies change often. When things are good, don’t worry your routine will be upended again soon too hahaha. Here’s hoping she remains a good sleeper for you. (mine went downhill at 6 months after sleeping most of the night until then – but hopefully yours will do better 🙂
Such a picturesque location and beautiful light outfit! Your hair look great both pre and after chopping! Kisses to Chloe x

That quote can certainly be applied to everyones lives. I could use a bit more big picture thinking in my life. Also – afraid of butterflies? I don’t think I’ve heard of that one before. At least you can wear them though and style wise thats all that matters. haha

I totally agree… Focusing on the big picture leads somewhere, while wasting your days into sweating the small stuff steals those short years away…
