If there’s one silhouette for summer that looks good on practically everyone (and I mean everyone), it’s anything that’s shoulder baring. Short, tall, curvy, petite- no matter what type of beautiful body you’ve been blessed with, an off the shoulder top or dress is an instant winner this season.
Off the shoulder pieces elongate your neck, flatter your décolletage and look perfectly effortless. Add a pair of shoes and you’re good to go! This silhouette was definitely on trend last year, but I think it’s safe to say that it’s a total classic that can be worn now and throughout the years.
I found this oh-so-chic off the shoulder linen dress on Farfetch (check out the dress here) and I immediately fell in love. Something about the casual vibes mixed with the exposed stitching, the frayed hem, and the lady-like shape was the perfect combination to create a summer look that really felt put together. Even though this dress is made with linen, I love the almost denim look it has to it. It gives you the cool look of denim without having to carry the weight of it in the heat. I paired the dress with the cutest pointed toe kitten heel mules (see them here!) to give myself a little height while still being comfortable. I like wearing pointed toe heels with longer dresses to visually give my legs just a few more inches.
I threw my hair up in a topknot to really show off the neckline of the dress, and to keep me cool- that heatwave is no joke (you guys are remembering to wear sunscreen daily, right?). I grabbed my vintage sunnies (check out a similar pair here!) and this chic mini bucket bag to finish off the look. Statement accessories like my sunnies and my bag really help to round out the look and give it a casual-cool feel.
How do you guys feel about off the shoulder pieces? I want to know! Let me know down in the comment box below and have a fantastic day!
