1. Put Up Art Shelves
If you’re looking for a super easy and flexible way to arrange your art, put up some slim floating shelves to hold a collection of your art and photography. If you’re putting up more than one shelf, make sure that you first hang your lower shelf where you want it to go, then place your largest art piece and measure two inches above that to determine the height for the second shelf. This look works best when you overfill the shelves for a rich, textured appearance with the frames overlapping. And feel free to move your pieces around from time to time for an easy home refresh!
2. Hang Your Art in a Grid
The stark simplicity of this look really makes your art stand out in a room, and it works especially well in a home with a more modern, contemporary style because of the straight lines and crisp edges. For this look, you’ll want to choose pieces that are meant to go together or related in theme and color. Make sure leave equal spacing (about two inches) between each piece.
3. Go for Salon Style
A salon style gallery wall can be intimidating, but by mapping out where each piece should go ahead of time, you can mix and match styles for an eclectic and memorable art collection. Your selection of pieces should demonstrate your personality, but don’t be afraid to include wall décor like prints and wall sculptures into the mix. For more in-depth help, read our article on creating the perfect gallery wall here.
4. Fill a Vertical Space
Awkward vertical spaces can be difficult to decorate. One solution is to hang your art pieces all the way from the floor to the ceiling. This adds an unexpected element to the home. Keep in mind that the biggest or most interesting pieces should be kept at eye level with the supplementary pieces nearer to the top and bottom.
