Trends to Try // Culottes

In the early 2000s they were semi popular in the form of gauchos, but Culottes are back this Spring and better than ever! Culottes can be such bold pieces because wearing the wrong length can shorten your frame. But the right culottes piece can be as elegant as a maxi skirt, not to mention comfortable. Check out these three different styles below to see which one is right for you!

1. Flowy Culottes

I love these oxblood colored culottes because they can be worn in both a casual and work setting. I’m pairing Erika here with a dressier button up and thin strapped heels for a more classic look. Pairing culottes with heels can help elongate your shape. And since this pant silhouette is so free form, we tucked in the shirt to keep her from looking too slouchy.

2. Printed Culottes

I’m absolutely in love with these floral culottes  ! They’re the perfect spring piece. To keep Erika from looking too casual, we paired her with a classic white-tee & a nude leather jacket. Since this pant is such a bold statement piece already, these pointed nude heels are perfect for completing this outfit. I love that these culottes can almost double as a printed skirt but it has a tomboy flair.

3. Structured Culottes

This is definitely my favorite pair of culottes. They’re simple and sleek, and I love that they’re more structured than the previous two pairs. These also have a shorter hem line so they end just below the knee, which is perfect for more petite girls. Again, pairing these with a thin heel is key!
