How to Wear Your Pajamas at Work

Facetime with Chriselle

For this look, I wanted to look sleeker, polished and put together.  I did a natural smoky eye with brown shadowssome blush to give myself some color and a gorgeous mauve lipstick to complete the look!

Okay… So these aren’t actually my pajamas. But I don’t think it’s possible to open a magazine nowadays and not see a sleepwear inspired look. From slip dresses, to lace camisoles, to actual silk pajamas – the pajama trend is all over the runways and the streets! I found this sleepwear inspired trousers and trench  to be great as individual statement pieces, but I love wearing them together! This trend might seem daunting at first, but I swear you can totally wear it in your everyday life…even to work! I know, I know, but trust me- here are my tips for nailing the pajama chic trend at work.

1. Don’t Actually Sleep in Them

Whether they’re your actual pajamas or pajama-inspired pieces, making sure the fabric isn’t wrinkled can go a long way. Having everything is pressed and proper makes all the difference! Is ironing not your thing? Don’t worry, it’s not mine either. Hand steamers are miraculous (this one is only $20!) to get those pesky wrinkles out in 10 minutes or less. Don’t have time to pull out your steamer? Pro-tip: use your hair straightener to get smaller wrinkles pressed.

2. Keep Your Hair & Makeup Sleek and Polished

If you work in a corporate setting, I’d suggest keeping your hair and makeup as sleek and polished as possible. Almost as a way to counter-act the laissez-faire nature of the sleepwear inspired pieces. My go-to is a sleek ponytail, strong brows, and a clean, mauve lip.

3. Keep your Accessories Chic and Strong

Wearing a matching set like I did might be a bit much at times. So wearing one piece like this pant or this top might be an easier way to incorporate this trend into your wardrobe. Also, adding chic and strong accessories like a watch, some sleek heels and a tote (check out this one for under $50!) can instantly transform your look from lounge-wear to workwear.
