NYFW Day 5: Runway Diaries

Although it’s NYFW Day 5, I feel like today was the true start of fashion week for me. These past few days I opted out of a lot of shows and presentations due to other obligations, but today was a full day of incredible shows and many many outfit changes! I got to see some old favorites as well as support a new designer, like I talked about in this post HERE.

10AM : Victoria Beckham

I started off my morning at the Victoria Beckham show, which is always one of my favorites. I felt so inspired by the collection. It was a mixture of feminine and masculine details, and she surprisingly played a lot with colors!

2PM: Sies Marjan

As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve been supporting a lot of new and up & coming designers this year and Sies Marjan is one of them. I was absolutely blown away by his creativity. Even the location of the show was perfection! There were a lot of monochrome looks done in the coolest way. Oversized, sleek and undone: I wore one of my favorite new pieces from his debut collection. The combination of exaggerated ruffles and stripes had me at hello. It’s incredibly dramatic but still wearable. I paired it with these Schutz shoes that seem to go with just about everything and added these nerdy glasses.

5PM: Altuzarra Show

As you guys might recall I wore Altuzarra as I walked down the runway for Vogue’s Made For History show, so technically I modeled for Altuzarra before I even attended the show, haha! The collection was so much fun with tons of transitions in mood and clothing. There was lots of energy, colors, and print! I did another quick outfit change to this Altuzarra dress where I layered an Altuzarra skirt on top. I tend to do that a lot during fashion week so it seems. I paired it with these Schutz boots again (these shoes literally win for matching with every outfit) and an Altuzarra purse!

6PM : Backstage with Prabal Gurung

We jetted off from the Altuzarra show to the Prabal Gurung show. I took over his Snapchat that day so I met him up backstage (did you catch my snaps?). It was really exciting watching the models at rehearsal and getting the exclusive sneak peek into the collection! It’s so cool to see the other side of a runway show. My last outfit change was into this beautiful all white skirt and blouse. The combination of gold button embellishments and lace mixed in really added to the minimalist detail that I love.

7PM : Prabal Gurung Show

This collection was so beautiful. Lots of fluidity, elegance, and sex appeal all at the same time. There were beautiful silk pieces mixed in with thick knits … a perfect blend.

It was an incredible day filled with tons of fashion inspiration and lots of random outfit changes in the back of the car and in public restroom but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
