Color Theory

As I’ve talked about in this post here, most of you know I don’t wear that many colors in my everyday life. But something about Fashion Week brings out the colorful side of me! My go-to look for any Fashion Week outfit is a monochromatic look. If I ever incorporate color into my looks, I’ll either do it in a subtle pop of color, or I’ll stick to a monochromatic theme. It’s color, but done in a simple way! You’ll never have to worry about wearing clashing! So if you’re like me and a bit hesitant when it comes to wearing something that’s not grey, black or white, try doing a monochromatic outfit like I did for the Barbara Bui show! I feel like it makes color more wearable and it cuts out the guess work!

I wore a full Barbara Bui look to their show and it’s one of my favorite looks from this season. Although she’s a Parisian designer, I love that she has a bit of California cool woven into her runway collections- especially the collection for Spring/Summer ’16! There’s something about crop tops, low sexy v-necks, and mini skirts that rebid me of the girls in California. They’re confident about showing a bit more skin, but they do it in an edgy and cool way. I really appreciate that aesthetic because I personally don’t like pieces that are overtly and obviously sexy, but when it’s mixed with a hard and edgy element it makes it so much more wearable and cool.
