Summer to Fall Transitional Pieces

Fall is here and while we have to make some room in our closet for our chunkier knits and coats, let’s not pack all our summer pieces away just yet. While timeless basic pieces make up the staples in our closet, I’ve styled three summer pieces that can be reworked into your fall wardrobe!

The Plaid Shirt

The plaid shirt has been a staple for me all Summer long, but no need to pack them away just yet. Pair your plaid shirt with black knee high boots and jeans for an effortlessly edgy look. Also during the Fall I like to tone down my colored pieces with blacks, so it’s more fall appropriate.

Striped Dress

Turn your maxi dress into a skirt by pulling a chunky knit sweater over it.The trick to this look is in your accessories. I paired this look with booties and a felt hat which instantly make things more “cold weather” appropriate.

Black Tank

And of course the year long staple that all women should have in their closet…the classic black tank. Its perfect for tucking into your summer skirts or fall trousers. Fall is about making a statement out of your oversized coat, so pair your black top with sleek trousers to make your coat stand out.

And there you have it! Three re-worked summer pieces for this season! Which one is your favorite look? Share with me in the comments below!
