With every new season, certain trends come and go but there are a few accessories that will never go out of style.
Sure – they might not always be super popular, but they’re classics and here to stay. Since I’ve been pregnant and my growing belly makes it increasingly more difficult to find things to wear, I’ve been really relying on accessories to pull my outfits together. While I might go super trendy at times (because trends are fun sometimes!), I’ll always find myself going back to certain shapes, styles, and colors- especially when in Paris!
Paris was SO warm this past couture week, so a chic LBD was a no-brainer. The one I’m wearing here is by Helmut Lang (check out a similar dress here) and was the perfect starting point to build the rest of my look. The dress is super comfortable and is made of a stretchy knit fabric which means it can grow with my belly as the months go by and will look just as good after I give birth.
Pop of Color
So a good pop of color like this red Givenchy clutch (similar here) is always a winner in my book. Red is such a bold and classic color, and something about matching my bag to my lipstick makes me feel like I should be in an old Hollywood movie! I especially like wearing clutches during Fashion Week because it’s my excuse to cut down on everything I usually carry in LA (AKA my mom bag)!
Try swapping your neutral bag for a red clutch!
Hair Scarf
So I’ve been fond of this trend for ages but it seems like in the last couple of months, hair accessories are having a moment. Scrunchies, contrast bobby-pins, and barrettes are totally back. Something as simple as a silk scarf (like this one for $15) tied around my ponytail feels so chic to me. It makes me feel a little preppy- plus it takes my hair off my shoulders and out of my face in the heat!
Try swapping your scrunchies for a hair scarf and experiment with different ways to tie it.
Oxfords
So oxford loafers had a HUGE moment a few years ago, but I have a hunch that they’re coming back again. The ones I’m wearing here are from Dior (check out a similar pair here!) and let me tell you- they’re so comfortable. Being 7 months pregnant, even during Fashion Week, means mama need to be comfortable. They’re androgynous, easy to wear and style and total classics.
Swap your white sneakers for a pair of oxfords when you want to feel comfortable but a little more dressed up!
Trench Coats
So trench coats will always and forever be a classic, and if you don’t have one in your closet yet- what are you doing? I have a good classic one that I love, but this one by Margiela is such a cool twist- I just had to have it. It’s made out of sheer organza and added such a badass and unexpected element to all of the looks I wore in Paris. (Remember this look here?) So while it still might be a little warm out to wear this trench too much, I can’t wait for fall to really break it in!
Swap your classic trench for a trench with a twist! Sheer ones like this are great for summer.
Do you have any classic accessories that you’ll wear no matter what’s on trend? Drop a comment down below and let me know! Have a great day!

I’m loving the organza trench coat! It’s so fun but calm at the same time! I’ve always envied people who wear oxfords, but I’ve have bad luck with shoes rubbing my heels. Any recs for that?
My personal favorite classic is Revlon’s Certainly Red lipstick!

Hey Blu! One tip that’s helped me is to wear the shoes that are giving you trouble around the house with a pair of thick socks! It’ll be uncomfortable for a while but it will help stretch the shoes out! And of course, band-aids galore! xo
Thank you for the tips, Chriselle! Blu
