The Winter Approved Crop Top Combo

Is there a better combo than wearing a cropped sweater and high waisted pants right now? I don’t think so. I wore this look last time I was in Shanghai (which you might remember from Instagram!) and it was just too good not to share!

Playing with proportions like I’m doing in this look is such a great way to add visual interest to any outfit! I love how the crop sweater (check it out here) looks with high waisted pants (like these) and a long duster coat. The trick to pulling a look like this off is to show a little skin like I’ve done with my mid-drift and my ankles. It helps break everything up!

Along with the proportions, I love the contrast between the feminine ruffles of my sweater and the menswear element of the trousers and coat! Colder weather is such a great excuse to play with proportions and layer up – so I love putting my stylist hat back on and experimenting with outfits. What do you guys think about proportion play?
