First of all, Happy Lunar New Year everyone! I’m so excited that I get to spend it with my family. In light of this important day, I thought I’d share some of the amazing images shot in Paris at the Guo Pei runway show. If you don’t know who she is, I’m sure you’ve seen her work. She’s the designer that designed Rihanna’s epic yellow gown at the Met Gala last year. Although she’s been around for several years, a lot of people discovered her from designing Rihanna’s gown.

I was extremely excited to be invited to the show this year. The show was nothing short of what I expected and it was probably the most lavish and extravagant show from the entire week. It makes me proud as an Asian American that there are designers that are crossing over internationally and making an impact. I love seeing the influences in Guo Pei’s designs. She mixes a lot of traditional elements with more modern cuts. From details, colors, and unique fabrics, it’s truly one of a kind, which is what couture is all about.

I hope to see more of her name this coming year as I feel that she has such incredible talent. Wishing you all a very Happy Lunar New Year!
