How to Survive an All White Outfit

Hey guys, it’s Hannah! I’ve always had a great admiration for a good all-white look. To me, it looks so effortless yet so daring all in one. How do people do it? How can they wear head-to-toe white and not get it dirty? Who are these magical people ?!

Well, this summer- I want to be one of those magical people who can rock an all-white outfit and KEEP it all white. So in efforts to figure out how exactly to do that, I did some research and attempted to survive an all-white look. Here are my tips:

The Under Garments

For something so effortless looking, there’s a lot of effort that goes into an all-white look. First step- the undergarments. Once upon a time, a good friend of mine in high school wore bright neon pink underwear under her white jeans and I’ve been hyper-aware of not making the same mistake ever since.

Nude/flesh colored underwear are a closet staple for me. White underwear could work too, but I don’t want to take any chances. I really like these and these! Similarly, you want to find the perfect bra, too. I love how chic the black bra under a white top looks, but sometimes you just want everything to blend. For me, that means nipple covers! They stick right on, work with backless and low cut tops and are super comfortable. They give you good coverage without being constricted in a bra!

If nipple covers aren’t your thing, then I’d suggest this bra here! It looks great under a t-shirt and is very comfortable!

Stain Remover Pen

So, the last time I wore white jeans, I ended up spilling coffee on them about 5 minutes after I left my apartment. Needless to say, I should have been carrying around one of these stain remover pens. I’m sure you’ve seen or heard about them before but let me tell you from personal experience- THEY WORK. I now carry one in my work bag so I’m always prepared- white outfit or not.

At the same time, remember that it’s just a stain! If the stain remover pen doesn’t work, some good detergent (like this one) will. Also, try to avoid (as best as you can) anything that might stain! So be careful while you eat and, in my case, drink coffee.

Know Your Fabrics

Fabrics like cotton and denim are pretty easy to keep clean or get clean. My biggest tip for the perfect white t-shirt (which you might remember from this post here) is to buy a pack of men’s white t-shirts! That way, if you do get a really bad stain- you can just throw it away and not feel bad.

I avoid clothes that are ‘dry-clean’ only like the plague. I ain’t got time for that! At the same time, be sure to read the cleaning instructions on the tag of your clothes before you wash them. You’d think I would have learned that by now, but my pink dyed socks would say otherwise. Ooops. (PS: obviously don’t forget deodorant! LOL!)

Do you guys have any tips for surviving an all-white outfit? Please leave a comment down below! Keep your eye out for my post next week (yep, I’m going to be contributing once a week now! YAY!) and have a great weekend!
