Traveling anywhere, especially abroad, already comes with enough stress as it is. Starting this summer, I want to start traveling light. My goal is to really cut down on things I don’t need (or, things I think I need that I won’t even take out of my suitcase!) In the effort to take a more minimal approach to my travels, here are 3 tips to travel light:
1. Have a Bag that Can Do it All
No matter how much I prepare ahead of time (or think I have prepped beforehand), I have the tendency to get frazzled when I travel. Knowing where everything is (passport, wallet, boarding passes, keys, phone) helps to ease my mind so much. That’s why it’s so important for me to have a high quality, Italian-made designer bag that’s also very functional – and that’s where the Senreve’s Doctor bag comes in. I can wear it over the shoulder, on my arm, or as a cross body, so I can use it long after I leave the airport. The luxe interior has a lot of pockets to help keep everything organized, and the light-colored lining makes it really easy to find what I’m looking for. Plus, the cream color here is a neutral that goes with everything but is durable enough that it doesn’t get dirty. The bag is also light as a feather and fits everything you’ll need, plus its unique shape can be transformed- expanded to be a relaxed hexagon or packed in to look super sporty and sleek. Perfect for traveling.
2. Pack Smart
Dresses, dresses, dresses! Packing lightweight clothing that can easily roll up is a must for traveling light. Dresses are the ultimate travel companion because it’s an entire outfit in one! Plus, they look cute layered or by themselves and you can dress them up or dress them down. A total win-win.
3. Cut Down the Excess
If you’re like me, you probably want a different pair of sunglasses and shoes for each day you’re traveling. But when you really think about it, you only need one good pair of sunglasses, and maybe two to three pairs of shoes. If you’re traveling somewhere warm and sunny, a hat is a total must! Another thing I’m working on is simplifying my beauty routine, especially when it comes to my makeup. Multi-purpose and two-in-one products are life savers!
Do you guys have any tips for traveling light? Let me know in the comments below!

Hello,I check your blog named “3 Tips to Travel Light – The Chriselle Factor” daily.Your writing style is witty, keep up the good work! And you can look our website about love spells.
great tips!
I also agree with the tip to carry a travelling scarf because it can be a blanket on the plane and keeps you warm on fresh summer nights without carrying a pullover that matches every outfit. What I started doing just recently is filling small containers with my face cream, micellar water etc (I actually bought set of them from the Korean brand The Faceshop in Singapur, <3) that saves me sooo much space for cosmetics! When it comes to make up I only carry a concealer, eyeliner, mascara, one or two lipsticks and one small pallette of eye shadow with me. When you are tan and get enough sleep you dont need that much make up, right?

Really great tips for traveling! Can you tell me where the dress is from?
Packing light is a huge struggle for me! I’m still learning. Love the all white look.! It really pops against the purple background.

Another key item to pack is a large scarf that can be used as a blanket on the plane, and also to spice up outfits at your destination. Just got back from Europe and every woman at all the airports had a scarf. I hadn’t thought to bring one so I bought a few as useful souvenirs. You can also tie them around your purse or luggage strap so they don’t take up room in your luggage. Also if you like a pillow on the plane check out Purse-N, a pillow that has pockets for your stuff. I got one and love it. BTW flying around Europe forces you to pack light. If you want to bring a suitcase larger than 21″ it will cost you at least $30 on each leg of your flight. I just did 35 days in Europe with a 21″ carry on and a 9 x 6 side bag that I was prepared to stuff my tiny purse into but they never made me do that. I had to do laundry a few times but it was cheaper than paying all that money for the luggage plus having to carry it everywhere. It was my first time really packing light and I enjoyed it.
Great tips!

Super helpful tips- thank you
I travel every other week with my job #whatifevents. And I have 3 golden rules
1- have a washbag with a mini kit of your cosmetic essentials always packed. It avoids me panicking about “do I have enough tonifier for this trip”, or “it won’t fit in my carry on”!
2- check the weather at your destination: under or over dressed is a no no for a frequent flyer 😉
3- pack a couple of days before ( day -3 make a list of what you need, day -2 pack, day -1 throw in wash bag and IT equipment bag
And have flying
Wonderful tips! I always think I’m packing light until I get back from the trip and realize that I didn’t even use most of the things that I had brought, haha.

I’m so illogical when I pack for travelling. I bring too many clothes even if I plan my outfit. The only tip that I follow well is bringing sample sizes for beauty products.
Thanks for the post I keep in mind your tips. Great outfit, I’ve already pinned it!

I actually have a separate set of make up for my travels. It helps greatly! Palettes that have bronzer, blush and shadow-foundation and concealer in one-and carry only two lippies! x

I love traveling light tips.
I hardly ever do it – so the reminder is always welcome.
Dresses are super helpful – as well as planning your outfits so you can maximise without carrying too much.
Mixing and matching is the key.

I totally agree! Thanks love! xo
These are fabulous tips! I always land up over packing so I really need to take a page out of your book! I find that when trying to pack light I gravitate towards my basics because they can be mixed and matched. I take a few statement pieces because they will stand out but basics are the true winners!
Gorgeous bag! Looks stunning and probably matches with anything and everything!
