I saw SO MUCH color on the runways this past fashion season and considering the color palette for my style usually stays within the realm of neutral colors, I couldn’t wait to experiment! Now, I wasn’t about to completely overhaul my closet to fit the trends of the season, so I had fun finding statement pieces that can compliment my existing wardrobe. The easiest way to do that? Accessories!
When I found these killer YSL boots (similar here) it may or may not have been a bit of an emotional purchase but I’ve been in love ever since! Everything from the shape to the color to the tiny detail on the heel seemed to be calling my name.
I threw on some cool relaxed jeans, a silk blouse (like this one) and an oversized stripe blazer to complete the look. And, I know they say you shouldn’t match your shoes to your bag anymore, but how perfect is this Valentino bag? The red complemented the outfit perfectly and the lady-like shape was a cool contrast to the oversized blazer.

I love colour! And red is such a bold, daring one to go for. I always like adding some to a simple outfit to make a statement and as you said it’s not really necessary to update your whole wardrobe but adding some bold coloured accessories is definitely a great way to go about it.
