Off Duty Double Denim in Tokyo 🇯🇵

When you read this, I’ll be traveling yet again (sorry love)! Make sure to follow along on Instagram to find out where I am and what I’m up to!

A few weeks ago when I was in Tokyo (to see how I packed for my 24-hour trip, click here), I decided to play around with a double denim and double frayed outfit. I rarely do denim-on-denim, but when traveling, it’s a great no-brainer outfit to throw on and feel really cool in when done right.

A classic denim jacket is just one of those closet must-haves that you’ll wear forever (like this one here), but changing things up is fun too! This denim jacket (check out a similar one here) was such a cool spin on the classic that I just had to get it. To break up the denim on denim, I grabbed my trusty striped turtleneck. Not only is it a great layering piece for colder weather- but the print helps break up the double denim.

If you remember from yesterday’s post, this vintage hat I got in Tokyo (similar here) has become one of my favorites! I love that it gave my outfit a tomboy spin- and it was also the perfect excuse to not do my hair!

What are your thoughts on double denim outfits? Are they a hell yes or a hell no for you? Let me know in the comments below!

I would say….hell yassss! But the look has to be styled right. Light and dark denim balance each other out; if you wear the same color denim for the whole outfit, then you risk your outfit getting lost and losing character. But I love how you styled this look! And denim pairs perfectly with a black hat, be it leather or suade.

  • I love your travelgrams so so much! Love the denim for a casual stylish look!
