Lazy Girl Looks - Style Your Hoodie 3 Ways
Hey guys! It’s Hannah back on the blog to share one of my favorite styling tips.
I’m a HUGE fan of no-brainer dressing. Don’t get me wrong, I love getting dolled up, but I pride myself in being able to throw together an outfit and make it look effortless, even when it actually took a lot of effort.
One of the best tools in my arsenal (besides a t-shirt dress) is a hoodie/sweatshirt! They can be dressed down, dressed up, and dressed somewhere in between. ALSO- they can be used as PJ’s which basically makes them a closet MVP in my mind.
With the LA weather finally dropping below 70 (it’s gotten down into the 50’s!) – I’ve basically been living in sweaters. You know, #sweaterweather. So I decided to share some of the ways that I’ve been styling my hoodies!
The Key is the Coat
Yes, I wore sweatpants to work, but I’ve also worn this look to the airport! Let me walk you through it… I started with a plain black hoodie like this one. It’s soft, comfortable and doesn’t have any flashy logos. Then, I threw on a pair of Adidas sweats, some Converse (best purchase ever) and a hat.
The key to this look is the long camel coat. It totally elevates the look to say ‘I’m totally put together’ and ‘No I didn’t sleep in this.’

A Little Leather
If I’m going somewhere that doesn’t exactly allow sweatpants, I’ll grab my go-to leather mini skirt, a blazer, and some boots. The skirt and heeled booties bring the look to the next level while still staying cozy. If it’s extra chilly, I’ll layer with a pair of tights!
Plus, you can put a blazer over anything and look like you mean business. The one I’m wearing here was actually my great-grandfather’s!

Play With Proportions
This is one of my favorite outfits that I styled for this shoot.
I was inspired by a street style photo I found on Instagram and I knew I had to recreate it. I bought this men’s Disneyland sweater back in 2013 and it’s one of my favorites to date. I’ve layered it over a slip dress before but adding these thigh-high boots gave it a much cooler vibe.
Playing with proportions is something that I’ve started to get more comfortable with recently.

How do you style your hoodies? Drop a comment down below and let me know! PS: if you recreate any of these outfits @ me on IG – I’d love to see them!
Until next time,
x Hannah
